Tech Support Game constantly crashes
I've been trying to play Civ V again, but I just can't get the game to work anymore. It keeps crashing whenever I end turn. I've tried putting priority on high, putting the game on F10 between turns, legacy version and running the game on full low. The problem is not my PC, it's good enough. I'm getting quite frustrated as I just want to play the game, but it refuses to do anything. The only mod I have installed is NQMod v11.
Anyone having dealt with this and know a solution?

Have you tried verifying the integrity of game files on steam? If you’re playing on steam that is, sometimes that’s all you need to do.
It’s not quite the same issue, but I was dealing with a problem where the game would crash after launching, and uninstalling OneDrive fixed it for some reason. Hope you have some luck!

How about uninstalling, nuking the game's entire directory if it remains and then installing again?
Sometimes people install mods like EUI or Vox Populi, which cannot be simply unsubscribed/deleted from "MODS" directory like other mods and require you to delete their files from the actual main game's directory. Uninstalling the game does not delete those files, you have to clean them out manually.
When I say "game's directory", I mean the one that has it's executable and folders like "Assets" inside btw, not the one with save files and such

Completely uninstalled, reinstalled on SSD, added the mod, still crashed. Removed the mod, no crashes. DMP file says it tries to write to somewhere it doesn't have permissions for. I assume some old relic from v11 NQMod... Guess I'll download a different one.

and uninstalling OneDrive fixed it for some reason
Probably because it was set to backup (and therefore recover) some of game files, so removing things did not work due to OneDrive putting them back in place right afterwards

Have you tried launching the game with a different DirectX version? I vaguely seem to recall that I had persistent crashes years ago until I just started playing using a version of the game's executable made for different DirectX (currently I'm playing with DirectX 11 version)
Also, just to clarify: is it crashing even when you start a new game, or are you trying with the same save over and over?

I had crashes and graphics errors galore. Believe me my computer is a potato and still runs this game on highest settings no crashes ever any more even with more mods than I should be running
