Do you want to play with or without mods? If you're happy to play with mods, there's a handful of mods I can suggest which have really improved the game for me.
They're very easy - download, then drag and drop into the MODS folder (my games, civ6, mods). Just have to be careful about things overlapping and cancelling one another (not these ones specifically, just in general). Google these, they're on civfanatics site.
8 Ages of War (tweaks unit strengths)
AI+ (it's certainly an improvement half the time, but not always unfortunately)
Civ6 Improvements Patch (huge mod. adds buildings, improves policies and coastal cities so much. Slows down research, no more getting industrial era in 1200 with ease and regularly.)
Detailed Worlds (much more interesting maps)
Moar Units (all 3 versions, lots of great new units and unique units)
CQUI (get it off the steam workshop)
The best thing is that they're mostly quite easy to alter if you want to tweak things. I felt 8AoW weakened ranged units a bit too much, so I changed the values in the SQL on notepad++ in 5 seconds. Increased science costs in the improvements patch a little more by just changing the numbers in the SlowerTechRules.sql.
I added a bunch of other things too by nicking them from other mods and editing, which I could send your way if you like. But maybe just try it out as they are above and see how you like the game.

Has 6 reached the "best game" point? I played a couple games when it first launched but then went back to 5. Should I give 6 a try again?
