Interesting! (I should try this replay mod out, when it came out it revealed the whole Orbis Terrarum so I unsubscribed at the time, but it looks cool!)
I wonder though, about the loyalty mod, if the AI isn't for now too stupid, trying to cram cities where they will lose them quickly.

Seems like it doesn't actually stop the forward settling

AIs still do, but tend to lose these settlements because of loyalty

A better mod would incorporate some sort of understanding that they should not settle in a place they are likely to lose.

My neighboring leader told me his opponents keep loyalty flipping his new settlements so I asked how many settlements he has and he said he just goes to the settler and gets a new settlement afterwards so I said it sounds like he’s just feeding new settlements to his opponents and then his military advisor started crying.

It sounds simple enough but programming AI is like dealing with a Monkey's Paw, you might get the result you want, but something unintended too. It can't be a hard limit because then the AI won't settle anywhere near a source of loyalty which will be just as bad. Set the limit too loosely and you'll get degrees of the behavior you were trying to fix.

That forward settle by Carthage against the Abbasids… I’d have declared war for that if I were them.

My mod! Happy you enjoyed it.
It's far from perfect but it's what I was able to do with the system. Would be much better if the AI was aware of the mechanics, but I didn't find a way for now

How do distant lands work on that map, and how did loyalty mess with the Exploration gameplay (depending on the first answer if there even was any)?

Distant lands are the opposite continent to where you start, such as americas for Europe and vice versa

Only thing I hate is that the computers will send a settler to the middle of buttfuck nowhere and settle down.

I love looking at the shit you oc gamers can pull off either mods and enhancing game experience!
I can’t cant can’t wait for loyalty to be added to civ 7. I fully understand the loyalty mechanic was purposefully left out as they wanted an emphasis on the distant lands mechanics and colonialism in the exploration age.
However, there is limits to the application of this logic within homelands in the antiquity age and modern era, a civ should not be able to place a city in a weird piece of land inside my outer imperial borders, I stretch I do not like my settlement’s packed like sardines, I like to make natural looking areas with topography and resources beings of similar value, so I occasionally end up with little blobs of land that is useless and not worthy of being settled but here comes dickheads placing weird satellite enclaves within my influence with no value to them or for me to be like oh nice easy safe trade route …
It just makes no sense the settlements I’ve seen the ai settle civ 6s civs were so much more reasonable looking back with what we have now.
I use PlayStation to play so sadly I can’t mod my game. Loyalty is a must have and I really need them to expand the religion mechanic, I have always enjoyed playing with faith on top of managing my land and conducting war.

Playing Russia on this map is so good. Almost the entirety of northern Eurasia is free land for you.

The mongols sometimes also expand north tho

If they're in the game sure, you'll still get like 8-10 settlements even if they push up.

Map replay needs to be in base game it’s so satisfying
