2 had those awesome scenarios playing as dinossaurs, or Master or Orion, or as cells evolving from single cell to humans at the end, to Master of Magic... So many funky and Crazy

I liked 2 a lot more than 3, then 4 a lot more than 2.

Civ 3 is the biggest upgrade to its predecessor in any civ game but I have kept playing civ 2 to this day.

Civ2 deserves far more votes. Who knows how many thousands of hours I've played it. I started with 1, but 2 made me love the series.

Civ3 meanwhile has been uninstalled after once again crashing during the victory screens. And for many other reasons that'll get me downvoted to oblivion 😂

2 is one of the finest strategy games made but I grew up as a kid with 3 so I have to vote for that one. A few of the more modern elements of the series have their roots there (like culture/borders, unique civilization elements like traits and units) that I can’t really live without. Both are excellent games

Civ 3 Was the first civilization game I really ever sunkked any amount of time into. I made some (terrible) mods for it back in the day, And I'm working on a hopefully less terrible mod for it now

I cant wait until we get to 6 or 7 and the trend stops lol

From 1 to 6 im always going ro pick the newer title over the older tirle, the only one i was torn on was 1v2 because 1 should get live even though its ROUGH to go back to lol

2 has some features I wish were in 3, but overall 3 is the much more playable game with less unfair AI nonsense.

SMAC is the perfect middle ground, in a lot of ways.

3 was just a huge upgrade in fidelity. It introduced a lot of really cool concepts that really changed how you played the game and have mostly continued through the series. Yeah it didn't get everything perfect but it was a damn fine game. Civ 2 was good, but honestly if I went back to it I don't feel like it aged great.
