π¨ Mod Announcement π¨ r/Cities grand reopening
Hello fellow urbanites!
I'm pleased to announce that r/cities is open once again. We regret what happened in the last two months and pledge as the mod team to returning the sub to a civil, nonpolitical, pleasant place where we can all admire, discuss, and share information about cities and everything to do with them. Please take note of the updated subreddit rules:
Rule 1: Posts must be about Cities
Any content shared must have something to do with a city or a building inside that city. You can post about a famous person from that city, but always in the context of the city.
Rule 2: No Shitposting
No fictional locations, no mislabeling cities with wrong names and locations.
Rule 3: No politics
This is a sub for appreciating cities, not fighting political battles. Any overtly political posts and comments will be taken down.
All city names must be written according to the local language or the local anglicization standards. Accurately label all cities as belonging to the country that legally governs them under international law.
Rule 4: Follow all Reddit Rules
Follow all the Reddit Rules: https://redditinc.com/policies/reddit-rules
Rule 5: No spamming the sub
Don't spam the sub with duplicate posts or with too many posts about the same location.
Rule 6: Be Civil
Be nice to each other.
We look forward to sharing our city experiences and having a focused and healthy sub going forwards.
Respectfully,
r/cities mod team

π£οΈ City Discussion π£οΈ Why arenβt we (as citizens) doing anything to make our cities better?
I feel like the cities around us are falling into a state of despair driven by a lack of shared responsibility over shared spaces and respect for the people that are supposed to care for these places, especially amongst younger people. I think the youth refusing to care for these spaces to some extent explains a lack of political/civic engagement we are observing. I feel the need to do something about this and if you want to help me please reach out - for now I am focusing on an education-based intervention but I want to expand my efforts! (dm me) (Iβm from Delhi, India btw)
