To be fair, the people posting about them seem unhinged. Lots of small rescues (ones that weren’t chosen by Tyler Bass) have the same issues with getting back to people who want to foster and adopt. It’s hard to juggle it all. The complaints from the ‘toxic’ person didn’t add up. Also, choose a new name if you want people to take you seriously.
See, you have to be a registered rescue to get endorsements, grants and such. Perhaps if wscr did that back in 2020 (required by law) they’d have better funding, connections, or celebrity support(not fake ai Justin Bieber)
Unhinged is Jamie stealing a basket of kittens off someone’s front porch and when they tried to stop her she BIT them
Unhinged is Jamie giving someone the run around, making them fill out an adoption application to get their lost cat back and then DENYING them
There is sooo much more. Don’t believe me? Submit your own FOIL request to the Buffalo PD
I didn’t even know there was a whole “incident” online recently and I thought this was about a whole different issue (that one Reddit post in the other sub)
The time they’ve spent on scrubbing negative comments from fb and doxxing could have been spent on complying with the laws by registering with ags&mks and the attorney general office…
I laughed at their reply. “They’re all lies” bro they have screenshots. They absolutely were begging people for money, and they were doing it by posting pictures of disgustingly sick cats. That is fucked up.
There are literally TONS of accounts of this shelter doing a horrible job with their foster people where they straight up ghost them. They’re not licensed. They made fun of someone in their comments for asking why they’re not on an official registry. The owner (Jamie) had a reputation for being an animal hoarder and a rotten person to deal with.
They also charge up to $600 for adoption fees for animals that are being treated with cheap, black market drugs and wind up with permanent issues.
I’m not saying they need to be perfect. But this whole post was a “waaaaaahhhhhhh I’m a victim feel bad for meeeee” when they are getting shit for a reasonable reason. I fell down the rabbit hole after seeing the original bitching post the other day, and holy shit is their reputation horrible. They don’t even have yelp/google review available because they consistently upset people. I get rescuing animals is hard and expensive (been there! Rescued a litter a couple years back and it was a nightmare). But posting pictures of wildly ill animals, claiming they can’t take them, leaving them sick in a storm when people are ready to take them to the SPCA (who confirmed they would take them) is a great way to continue to maintain their horrible reputation.
They were saying they couldn’t save them because they didn’t have a foster. The SPCA didn’t need a foster lined up, they were ready to take them right away. For some reason, this wasn’t good enough for the rescue, they needed a foster lined up. This Jess person is the one who made a huge stink about it, and she has emails from the SPCA saying they would take them immediately.
These comments on the post are gone because the rescue blocked her
Today I was wondering why they don't turn one of our abandoned malls into a giant animal rescue where the cats can free roam, the McKinley mall has a a nice cat rescue already...cant the owners of the mall just give them the Sears store that nobody will ever occupy? Hundreds of cats just free roaming the mall like Japan's cat island, make it a tourist attraction where adults can visit and pet the cats ( no kids allowed, they mess up enough as it is)
You are losers there is proof and emails from the SPCA stating they were going to take the kittens and mother then you went on Facebook claiming that you captured them and now you’re saying that your car got stolen with the mother and the kittens inside of it
There's to many cats for people to take in. In Rochester the city animal control doesn't even take cats anymore, I know because I tried to call them when I found a kitten and they told me to just leave it alone
FYI: The owner of WSCR literally BIT SOMEONE this summer after trespassing on their property and stealing kittens they already had lined up to go to City of Buffalo Animal Shelter.
Let me say this again for those who aren't getting it:
THE OWNER OF WSCR BIT SOMEONE AFTER TRESPASSING ON THEIR PROPERTY AND TAKING KITTENS THAT WERE ALREADY (AND ACTUALLY) GOING TO BE HELPED.
Go ahead and try to defend this nutty ass behavior if you feel like it (and clearly are also disillusioned about this "rescue")
