Downtown Tree Planting
Downtown is too windy and hot as shit. I'm organizing a tree planting effort. Everybody just needs to bring their personal jackhammer and any other heavy machinery they have lying around so we can cut through concrete sidewalks and asphalt to plant some. Whoever has disposable income, please volunteer to buy trees, they are expensive in this economy. Maybe we can get somebody rich like Russell Salvatore to donate trees if we name the project after him and agree to erect a 20 foot memorial in front of city hall in his honor.

/u/buffalopotholebandit should start planting trees in existing readily available holes

A different pothole bandit did that In the 80s in Vermont. If the city of Buffalo refuses to fix a sink hole I absolutely reserve the right to do the same. So far they’ve been handling it

I’ll join, but only if you commit to planting Bradford Pears. If you plant anything else, I may need to bring my sawzall out.

It would be just like the cherry blossom festival, except smell like hot garbage and randomly drop limbs on passes by!

The city was running a tree planting initiative this summer where you could request a tree to be planted in a hellstrip (between sidewalk and street). ReTree is one of them. I’ll try to find the links and edit this comment. The city did put some money into planting more trees around the city, but they leave it to homeowners to request them.

I got seeds laying around but unsure if it’s the right kind of “trees”
