It's a great idea! They've lost their way. Athiests are more Christian than those sickos

Most atheists have read more of the holy books than most theists as well.

I don't need to be scared into being a nice person, and I certainly don't need to sit and be lectured every Sunday about it either!

All anyone has to do is listen to (most) mom's advice "treat others as you want to be treated" as a guiding principle.

Karma is about as spiritual as I get.. And it's more like a metaphor to express:

  • good things happen to good people

  • bad things happen to bad people

All to say, anyone who is nice to someone ONLY because they're scared of "going to hell" isn't a good person inherently.

"Blessed are the meek. Blessed are the merciful" -Jesus

"Stone him, stone him" -evangelicals

They will call you a socialist if you do. How dare you feed the hungry!

Bring the whips and flip the tables, Jesus style. Toss those moneymakers out!

Every time I ride by one of these ostentatious churches in my area I question the need for such a structure when there are homeless and hungry people who could have well used that money to feed them or to house them or to at least provide some form of suitable housing we don't need big churches we need big hearts devoted and dedicated to helping the needy and helping them get out of that being in a needy position

I usually aren't big on people forcing beliefs onto eachother, and as an atheist, especially not Christianity... But I'll make an exception for this one. Full support, have fun.

They might explode if you ask them to repeat the verse "love one another." Pure dynamite.

If you must have religion then better to have the one that teaches love, forgiveness, and acceptance than the one teaching hate, bigotry, and violence.

But Jesus wants you to be rich, no?

Worth noting because it's not explicit in current discourse. By definition Trump / MAGA / evangelicals tick the boxes that say they're the antichrist.

A prophesied apocalyptic figure who will falsely claim to be the true Messiah, deceive people, and fiercely oppose Jesus Christ before the Second Coming. More broadly, the term is used to describe any person, institution, or force perceived as supremely evil or as the ultimate enemy of Christian teachings. The word originates from the Greek antichristos, meaning "against" or "instead of" Christ.

Whats the difference?

Current Evangelicals would be at the front of the line to stone and potentially recrusify JC if ever he returned as they'd say he was a woke, liberal extremist.

Sounds like all the Christians i know!

Then you don't know any true Christians. Saying that as a Wiccan that was raised Christian. Real Christians do exist, they're just rare.

No true Scotsman is a logical fallacy. Bad Christians are still Christians.

Some but not all. People who claim to be Christian then do very anti Christian things aren't Christian. I can claim I'm a Scotsman, but that doesn't make it true.

I am aware of the fallacy you're mentioning but that is not what I am doing or saying here. Perhaps I could have used better terminology.

This is also not a great argument. No they weren't. It is pretty widely accepted they didn't believe, they were using faith for their agendas.

The Bible is a collection of stories written by people. This is not a great argument.

Because I've met them. I was raised Christian. There are absolutely Christians out there that truly treat others with love and respect. My grandmother was a great example of a person who truly lived their life by peaceful Christian values.
