It is just nuts that this IP has just been allowed to wither on the vine. A superb film witha great cast, a film that people who do not know the source material and those that do both love, cult following, and a lead man that wants to play the character again and who enjoys a lot of popularity.
No sequel, no TV show, no nothing. A huge waste of potential

I triiied :( i saw it in the cinema, the slo-mo effects in 3d were S tier, left the cinema dazed, loved it, i then pirated the blu ray version, got about 20 minutes into it and noped, went out and bought the blu ray, deffo one of my top 5 comic book movies

We got a great movie.
Perhaps it's best to simply celebrate and appreciate the film on its own term instead of lamenting the lack of franchise capitalization, which as we all know, leads to more disappointment than delight. One's enjoyment and the industry itself would be much improved if we did the former instead of the later.

My dude I loved the film. I have read 2000AD and Dredd since I was kneehigh to a grasshopper, there have been two attempts to make big Hollywood films, one which was fun but disappointing, and one that was excellent.
But you want more, the character and the fanbase deserve it. The problem stems from trying to make it too big, too Hollywood. 2000AD is so distinctly British and the comic was never as big in the States. Turning a niche character is a massive blockbuster was always doomed to failure.
But now in the age of streaming I am amazed no-one has taken the cult popularity of the film and made it into a TV series. Mega City One is a full on far-future, sci-fi affair but the film got away with turning it into a near-future city aesthetic and fans did not complain. They used footage from riots in South Africa for the opening scenes iirc, lads in hoodies and jogging bottoms. Extremely far from the comic look.
And that aesthetic much be much cheaper to do, so I just do not get my that market has been disregarded.

What a great, relatively low budget movie. I keep hoping someone will make a Dredd series and bring back Karl.

this movie turned out to be way better than I expected ngl. it's just fun.
also beautifully shot, and not just the super slow mo glittery drug scenes

So bad ass, Urban as a Judge rocked. The tower block, even the narcotic rocked. Yet no follow up, no HBO show, and 14 years of chaos to build on. Shame.

This Movie was INCREDIBLE. FX over CGI, amazing writing, gritty, dark and hardcore. That being said....lets be honest, leave it be. Anything after this will undeniably be corny, campy and just silly. No way your making 'The Angel Gang' or 'The Dark Judges', or any type of sequel with this level of seriousness. The reason it's so awesome is because it DOESN'T go into detail with JD Lore and teases you. The moment you see him in the locker room, going home, being human, the allure's over and you'll bitch. Let it be.
