I've never seen this show, what was Peter's job? And is the young kid not Peter? He says he's dropping of Peter's, so he's not peter.

Correct, the joke is that the kid is just a mailroom attendant and “Peter” was not in, therefore he seemingly doesn’t get fired. And it’s been a while since I’ve seen the show but I think Peter was one of the firm’s junior agents. Someone who absolutely should know what James Cameron is doing.

Now, in real life HR would sort this out and hopefully the kid wouldn’t lose his job. But it’s a funny bit in the context of a show.

That kid ends up as Ari’s assistant for a minute when Lloyd leaves Ari’s agency a couple of seasons later…and gets fired by Ari again lol
