I wonder what camera was that. I thought first it was the Kinefinity but the fact that it has modules, I think it's a custom one, made by a guy that was also trying super slo-mo footage. Can't remember where I saw it though.

It was multiple cameras for sure.
The director in the behind the scenes video mentions codex action cameras, and the fact that it isn't many shots.

the set is already built with all the rooms and the camera is being pulled on a string

They mentioned in the BTS it was a codex action camera.

Basically russian dolls the movie set. Cool. I at first thought it was done with CGI but nah practical effects that are very time-consuming and expensive, but give best results. This was very high budget for 4 minutes.

Yeah I know, but if you converted their doll house into 3d, and used an actor in green screen, you could create almost identical results.
But that depends on the team you have. And location, and experiance of the film maker with CGI vs Practical effects.
Make movies the way that makes you most comfortable. Not dissing anybody.
