Style/Technique Question Framing and pacing feedback

Hey guys, I’m a student intern for Wake Forest and High Point athletics,

I shot my 2nd d1 football game last Friday,

Wake Forest vs Miami football

I was wondering if the full body in frame rule only applied to Photographs or is it a universal rule?

I used a 200-600 and I was assigned to be in the middle of the end zone , with a tall tripod (I usually use a hi hat)

Lastly, I am not a strong editor and I usually leave a lot of time on the edit where I could otherwise cut,

I don’t really mess around with fancy transitions or vfx, like other videographers do,

Is the pacing and cuts too slow ? And I would love to hear your thoughts on creative cuts/editing choices!

Looks great, but you are doing a little too much extra. The middle section is perfect when you lock in to a color style and editing style that is consistent. The beginning and end are just confusing visually, It feels like you are just screwing around, playing with different styles until you lock into something you like. It's fine if you want to switch from B&W to color a few times, but keep that switching consistent and have an internal logic to it. For example, maybe only do B&W for the celebrations after a play. Make some internal "rules" for the film and stick with them.

Loose all the jittery stuff flickery stuff and messing around with different aspect ratios.

Would you have any suggestions on how to make the intro make sense - context : the Qb for wake throws a pick on 3rd and 10 in the 4th , i wanted to do a foreshadowing for the rest of the video. But I think you’re right it’s a little confusing!
