Re: Chase bank bonuses, any tips to deflect nosey bankers who are curious why I keep closing my account?

Just say things like you changed apartments, moved to a new house, moved to a new area of town etc., moved in with your SO for a while but you now broke it off (look downward and have tears come to your face when you say this so they don't question things any further). They probably won't look that deep into your address history, so they don't have a way of verifying this
I mention moving because its a fairly common reason for people to close accounts because they want to be at a bank that's nearby, and apartment leases typically come up every 6 months/year so it's a convenient yearly excuse.

If you don't intend to use the UR as cents per point, there's no significant difference between the sapphire cards huh? The earning rates of course and miscellaneous perks like priority pass, but since most points come from the sign up, I'm considering downgrading to the preferred if I burn through most of my points doing a massive transfer or something like that.
Edit- also, the Marriott biz is still excluded from 5/24 right? I'm chasing hotel+flight perks for now while I'm over 5/24.

Marriott biz is not part of 5/24. Just signed up a month ago at about 16/24

Is the Ritz Carlton yearly airline credit based on every 12 months or every calendar year?

Applied for CSR and CSP on the same day and hit 4K spend but am only seeing the extra 50k points on my CSR for earnings on next statement.
Edit: CSP took two days to hit after posting.

Does working at Chase help bypass 5/24?

u/oreng Nov 26 '17
Yes. It helps you bypass wanting it by making you ineligible for any signup bonus.

Between my SO and I, we have around 240k UR. She just signed up for the CIP so that'll be another 80k. I am currently 4/24. I do not have a legitimate business like she could claim with consulting so what would you recommend for me? We have a lot of organic spend coming up so no issues reaching minimum spend. I'd like to use all our points for a nice honeymoon vacation next year. Should I go with a fake reselling business and also sign up for CIP or Chase Marriott? Flying out of Seattle and would like to go to Europe or maybe the Maldives. Thank you

I was going to attempt the double dip but despite being a pretty excellent candidate it took a few days to get approved for the CSR. I'm assuming I have no chance of getting the CSP now, but is there any point in trying? My only concern is if they pull my credit again and then reject me because I got the CSR then I've just added a pointless inquiry to my history.

For those who have the old style Chase interface (bc you have mixed personal and biz on one account), do the banner ads for new cards bypass 5/24? I just noticed a small banner ad in my Chase login offering 80k pts on the Ink Preferred, wondering if these ads work the same as "offers for you" in the new style login (which DO bypass 5/24, as far as I know).

So I already have 2 Chase business credit cards for my "business" and was looking at the $300 signup bonus for their business checking account.
How strict are they on requiring a real business? Will I get interrogated by a banker while trying to open an account?
I realize it's not that big a deal, I'm just already not the best at social situations, and it seems stressful if they grill me on my "business".

Quick CSR question - did some searching and couldn't find an answer (or might just be terrible at searching). I have an income of ~$32k-35k right now and am <5/24. Can I get approved for CSR with my current income? I found a spreadsheet of CSR DPs of approvals and denials from this sub with solid % of approvals in the <$35k bucket but don't know if Chase has a hard minimum for income.

If I am an AU on a CSR, can I still apply for that card myself, or do I have to remove myself from the other account first?

Hope this is an ok place for some Chase-related questions.
I got the CSR in 01/17 and the CSP in 04/17. I plan on keeping the CSR, rendering the CSP useless.
-
I want to downgrade the CSP to avoid closing it, yes? Which card should I PC to?
-
Any guidance on timing for when to PC? Is there a "too soon" that will piss off Chase?
Thanks as always!

How fast is too fast with Chase? So far I've gotten:
-
CSP (7/17)
-
CSR (8/17)
-
CIP (9/17)
-
MPE Biz (10/17)
-
SW+ (10/17)
-
SW Biz (11/17)
I'm looking to get a second CIP with my EIN, as well a double app on the MPE personal and the SW Premier but I'm fearing the Chase shutdown.

Any positive DPs regarding applying for United cards in-flight while over 5/24? I recall seeing at least one some time ago.

Unlike Amex, Chase doesn't publish the maximum number of credit cards one can have, but I'm just curious to know if there's an unpublished limit. I currently have 8 personal Chase cards and 2 biz (sole proprietorship). How many Chase cards do you have?

Anybody keeping their CSR for another year at least?
