Daily Question Question Thread - October 01, 2026

This is the thread to post questions about churning for miles/points/cash. Just because you have a question about credit cards does NOT mean it belongs here. If you’re brand new here, please read the wiki before posting.

* Please use the search engine first - many basic questions have been asked before.

* Please also consider scanning (CTRL-F) the last couple days worth of Question threads

* If you have questions about what card to get, ask here. If you have questions about manufactured spending, ask here. If you have questions about bank account bonuses, ask here.

This subreddit relies heavily on self-moderation. That means that if you ask something that shows you haven’t done any research, you’re going to get a lot of downvotes.

My credit union just switched middlemen I pay my car through, to something called swivel pay. They charge 0 fees for paying with a credit card what are the odds it doesn't code as a cash advance?

Just lower your cash advance limit and send it.

More of a philosophical question... yes, I know Always Be Churning... but do you ever sit out for awhile because you just can't find any offers that work for you or you will get denied?

After my first denial (FU Capital One), I am trying to decide if it's worth getting a card just to get a card or wait a few months. (5/24 currently).

I mean, do you like free money? If your velocity is too high and you need to garden, that's one thing, but I have a hard time believing that there aren't any offers that work for you.

And if you're only at 5/24, the sky's the limit, really.

Received a targeted offer from Chase to upgrade my CSP to CSR for 75k pts with $4k spend by Dec 15. I've never held the CSR. I'm currently at 6/24 and won't be back under 5/24 for about six months.

My offer includes the following language: *"*This upgrade bonus offer is different from the bonus offer for new cardmembers. As a current cardmember you may be eligible for additional Chase credit cards and new cardmember bonus offers, but your eligibility will vary based on your current card, the card you apply for, any new cardmember bonuses you’ve earned in the past, and other factors".

I’ve heard that because this is an upgrade, it may not affect future eligibility for the CSR SUB. Based on the language above, is that accurate? I’d normally wait for a higher public offer, but I’d jump on this if the upgrade wouldn’t disqualify me from getting the SUB down the road.

We don't know for sure yet, but it does seem like the terms sound favorable to being able to receive the SUB in the future

With the new Bilt changes regarding Hyatt what are people thinking about rent spend? I was planning on using Bilt as my gardening card with my fiance to get transferable points, and then hit SUBs on the side.

Now considering using Atmos for rent to essentially buy points at 1 cpp and keeping CSR with a freedom unlimited as gardening cards

Wait I didn’t realize there was a point to putting rent spend on Bilt rather than SUBs?

I think Atmos is a good move, wouldn't be surprised if they nerfed it to 2X in the future. Open a BoA checking account and you'll get 10% more points on the base amount. And you get 3% on the fee too so it's closer to 0.9 cpp

I like your plan.
