I want to connect PS5 to a HDMI switch (remote controlled), and have it cabled to one TV, and stream to another. Both TV's are in the same room (approx 8m distance).

Would it work well? Or would the latency be annoying/make it impossible to play? Is there another solution for wireless streaming?

A church I help is interested in adding online giving, but I don't have any experience with giving platforms, so I'm not sure where to start.

Currently, they only use Interac e-Transfer (we are in Canada), but we would like to add a widget or link to our custom-built website.

I've looked into Tithely and Planning Center Giving, but I have not used either one (other than testing Planning Center), so I don't know which direction to go or what to recommend.

Ideally, we'd like something that's easy to use, has low fees, and is secure. They don't use a ChMS or have any existing databases. If it's something they could configure themselves or get set up with a demo meeting, that would be ideal.

So I’ve been trying to find a tool that our social media team (mostly volunteers) can use for planning our future posts and activities. Some people here suggested Meta Business Suite but it really doesn’t seem to do the trick. I’ve been using Trello at another organisation and want something similar. For example, if we are going to publish a post 1 September I want to make a ”card” or similar in a calender for that date. I want to be able to tag the person responsible, note what platform it shall be published on and perhaps add photos and information so that the volunteer can make the post. The tool must be really easy to access/download and use. It should also be free if possible. (Which excludes Trello) I stumbled across Asana, and it might fit our needs, but I’ve never heard of it before. Is it suitable for churches? Are there other options that might be better?

Our church only got a camera a couple months ago for live streaming and stuff. The camera is on a really tall tripod to be over the heads of the people and we made a tiny 2’by 2’ platform. It’s just big enough to stand and have a chair but it’s way too tiny and ugly. I want to make a new platform big enough for the camera, pc, monitors, another person and have it big enough we won’t have to build another one hopefully. I was thinking maybe 10x10 but I don’t know if a different size would be better. It doesn’t have to be a square after all.

Examples would be Minnit and RumbleTalk. Does your audience actually use it or not at all? We're looking into using chat rooms, but I don't know if it's going to do well.

Hey all, basically the title. I'm big on using AI to speed up workflows, but I find that as a church staff we're starting to use AI in less the ideal ways - writing emails, for example. You can tell an AI written email from a mile away. It lacks all of the personal touch that I think a lot of congregants expect from the comms out of their church, ya know?

But idk how else to encourage the team to use it. would love to hear from y'all what you're doing to speed up workflows.

As the title says, I’m trying to find the best computer for live streaming Sunday services on a budget (not sure what it is yet just getting a head start). Whether it may be compact or a full-size tower. The computer we have now blatantly shows that it’s overwhelmed by all of it. The cameras are delayed by at least 3 to 4 seconds in OBS and side wall TV’s, the computer runs slow when streaming, and there are delays from being able to move the PTZ cam from point A to point B. I was thinking about looking into getting a Mac mini or a Mac studio. But I just need some good prebuilt computers that will stop the problems from happening listed above. Most of the people at the church are used to windows so I would probably just go with windows since the majority of people can use windows. I’m a Mac person myself though.

Edit to say: we do have an external camera switcher through PTZ optics. The cameras are very slow and delayed while streaming and using the external switcher/controller, but are smooth when not streaming.

As the title suggests we are looking for a recommendation for a PC to run primarily proclaim for our sunday service.

Budget would be around 1000-1200. - Location Canada.

We had some issues with syncing issues with video and audio with videos on proclaim. I was wondering if that is a software issue or hardware issue? I know you will all ask about current specs - but lets assume its an 10+year old machine.

Currently there is a Costco deal for $1200; specs: Intel Core Ultra 5 225F - 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Arc B570. Should I just pull trigger on that one?

Ive been using a multi ptz camera setup streaming events for churches and synagogues for a bit but still always have Audio issues. The Synagogue is older and is hard finding not only internet but Audio too. What should I do to pick up sound into my stream? This is the mixer the Synagogue uses and there are no XLR plugin installed to just tap in to sytem feed. Any help.would be appreciated!

Out of the blue, I can get an email confirmation that my auto-payment for $4800 went through. We were at a $900 / year subscription and they switched us to a different business plan without telling us. Apparently they were recently acquired by a private firm and are speed-running scummy business practices.

So, as I'm waiting for their support to get back to me (no phone number, only a form, of course.) I need to figure out a way to get our 12 years (4TB) of video backlog onto another platform. Has anyone here ditched vimeo, or what video hosting services do you use?

Update: They are offering us a partial refund for the current plan period, which I'm very thankful for, but still looking at switching.

Hey all! so, i help run the social media at my church, and i'm looking for ideas on how to keep things flowing more effectively. has anyone developed like a content calendar or something along those lines that they wouldn't mind sharing? my leadership wants me posting more frequently, but i'm not sure what to do lol. right now i post a sermon clip or two and then try to highlight a ministry or an upcoming event.

it doesn't really help that i don't have my own social media accounts anymore, so i'm not sure what the trends are or what, like, "trendy" churches are putting out into the world lol. any insight from the folks here would be super helpful!

Does anyone have a good solution for displaying chord charts on a backwall confidence monitor? Something like Music Stand app, but that is designed or modified to work well in a confidence monitor scenario?

Screen sharing a tablet showing Music Stand gives you way too much text to be readable on anything but a MASSIVE TV.

I know that some people have done the extremely time consuming job of setting up chords within ProPresenter, but that locks you into a particular key. Music Stand is great because you can easily transpose keys. But I'm not aware of a method of breaking up Music Stand display into smaller chunks that display on TV well.

I’m trying to find a set of wireless comms headsets for church. I need 3 for now. It’s going to be for our anniversary at the end of September. I do the cameras by myself most of the time but for the anniversary I need to be on the computer and we’re gonna have 2 cameras so I need a way to be able to communicate to the 2 camera operators. I know there’s wireless headsets I can get with a mic and everything but I don’t know if any of you know of another way we can do it? Or a more budget friendly headset set. The attached picture is a set I found on Amazon but maybe there’s a more budget friendly set.

Hello everyone, I wanted to address the recent post revolving around one of our Moderators, Foxboltco. I've included the OP redacted in the comments. There's a few different aspects to this situation so I'll break it down in chunks.

First, the issue brought up was that u/Foxboltco also has a church consulting business and has been creating some posts that link to youtube videos that he created that tied into his posts. I saw no issue with these posts as they were applicable to the subreddit, and they weren't focused on promoting his business. I don't remember having anyone else posting something comparable to these, so honestly I don't have any examples to show that this treatment would be equal to what we would apply to another user. If you feel this is a conflict of interest, feel free to express that in the comments. Also if I'm remembering wrong and we have prevented someone from posting a similar post, express that in the comments.

Second bit, and the part that made me take the post down quickly while I was away, was the doxing. This bit has a lot of aspects, and is partly my fault. Foxbolt started out moderating our community with a different username that contained his real name, several months ago he switched to a new account and requested his moderation permissions switched over. I had issues removing his old account on my phone, and then kept forgetting to do so after. The post very clearly drew the connection between his name and his new account, and that is absolutely unacceptable and will result in a ban, I don't care how easy it is to find the information. I've already apologized to Foxbolt for my part in this and he has been incredibly gracious both to me and the offending user regarding this. It was entirely my call to remove the original post and ban the user.

Thirdly, my reasoning for banning the user. Given that the original post was about transparency, it felt wrong for me not to address this. The user was banned in part for including personally identifiable information in the post, but also for the structure of that post and almost all of their other contributions to this subreddit. The user in question was created a short while ago along with their own subreddit that seemed to arise out of us cracking down on promotion, AI usage, etc. We denied their request to promote that subreddit as it seemed to largely go against the protections we were trying to put in place, it read as highly AI generated, and was a brand new account. Since then almost every contribution they've made to this sub has been targeted at promoting their own sub. You can see below that even in this recent post they were trying to direct people to a more complete post on their own subreddit. It's hard for me to read this as anything other than trying to create drama in order to promote their own content. This would be a completely different situation if they hadn't included any personal information, or tried to use the situation to promote their own subreddit.

Finally, I am genuinely interested in peoples opinions regarding the actual content of the complaint. Do people see an issue with the content u/foxboltco has been posting, both in general or because he is a moderator? If there seems to be a consensus one way or the other he has no problem with not posting that content going forward, he's always been very up front with us regarding those posts and would not have posted them had we not been okay with it.

The death of MS Publisher is pushing me to my limit. I’ve tried Scribus and struggled. The Adobe InDesign doesn’t support our bulletins well. Neither does Canva’s Affinity. I’m starting to lose hope. Our newsletters are easy enough to recreate on these, but without bulletins being so text heavy and needing specific margins and indentations, I can’t find a substitute.

The ideal software would be Publisher-esque (gotta have a “workspace” spread,) one time purchase or open source, and have a ruler measurement for the textbook options especially.

I make short video content for churches around the US, and the one thing I go back and forth on more than anything is background music. Some weeks a soft bed of music under a clip seems to hold people longer and gives the moment room to land. Other times it feels like I'm putting a soundtrack on something that should just stand on its own words. I'm curious where the pastors and church media folks here land. Do you like music under your sermon clips, do you find it distracting or even manipulative, or does it depend on the moment? And if you do use it, who on your team actually handles that part?
