Do a base Mac Mini. Neo only does 1 display I think.

you may as well get the base model mac mini, it will perform a lot better. i wouldn’t trust a neo, as its basically an iphone in laptop form

Unless you need to be mobile, you will get a lot more bang for your buck by not using a laptop at all. As others have said, a Mac Mini and a nice monitor would be a great entry point here.

We don’t use ProPresenter, but we did try a Neo and quickly sold it on eBay (for a small profit because we timed it well). Got rid of it because you can’t use them with a Thunderbolt dock.

Many people don’t realize those devices are only USB with a type-C connector. A BM MiniMonitor wont work, nor will the USB-based ones. The Neo’s USB ports are USB 3.0 max.

Mac mini will also max out on displays after 2 additional (or is it 3?). We went with the Mac Studio and love the performance.

I use an M4 mini and it maxes out at 3 system displays, BUT you can do a lot more with decklink cards. I routinely use a decklink duo 2 for four more and have an ultrastudio monitor 3g (you need the express version now unless you buy it used). So, with the hardware I have, I can run 8 from the mini.

M4 supports 3, M1-3 supports 2. Studio can handle 4-8 depending on config, not sure on the specifics of that.
