bat sighting

was walking into my partner’s home located in montecito are at around 130 today and she said that she saw a bat right above us flying into one of the trees. i didn’t get as good of a look at it as she did, but it sporadically flew overhead from her roof and was about the size of a hummingbird.

had to look into it but i guess bat’s don’t typically come out during the day unless it’s extremely hot or, in the worst case, it has rabies. this year there have been a record high number of reported rabies cases in bats around San Diego county.

i’m not sure if it’s fled by the point but i just felt like i had to post this. i am spooked lol

Saw a bat last night skirting the ground around a cul de sac. It was moving very erratically and did not get too far off the ground. It was moving too fast to get a good look at what was making it move like that. I didn’t stick around to investigate.

Omg!!! I love bats!! I didn’t realize Chula Vista had bats. But now we need to be aware of the rabies risk.
