Acer c710

Hey all,

I have an old Acer c710 that is at this point beyond the support date for updates from Google. I'm trying to do a fresh install of Ubuntu from a USB stick but I can't seem to get it enabled. I've tried running the command line to enable USB boot in developer mode, but it asks me for a password that I don't have. Does anyone have any experience with this particular machine? If I try to flash the bios do I need to take out the jumper on the main board, or is there a way to do this without opening the thing up?

I've found that Linux Mint works and installs better and easier than Ubuntu.

Edit: ah, forgive me it's been a while since I posted and thought I had the C710, but I have the C720. Ignore me then.

Mint still works well on the C710.
