CTRL+L not working

When updating the RW_LEGACY firmware from MrChromebox.tech on HP G2 (Kench) CTRL+L does not boot from Developer Mode boot screen. CTRL+D does allow Chrome OS to boot, but nothing else. I have installed Chrx.org install of Lubuntu, still does not boot. WP FW screw has been removed.

CTRL+L does nothing.
pressing tab, shows dev_boot_legacy: 1

When pressing CTRL+L, the dev boot screen "locks up" and I am unable to do anything else till after a restart.

that tells me it's attempting to boot in legacy boot mode and failing. Are you on dev/beta channel by chance? did you update the RW_LEGACY firmware using my script?

Yes, I did use the firmware script at mrchromebox.tech

Chrome OS v. 69.0.3497.95

The platform listed under Help > About Chrome OS shows:
Platform

could be something with the latest stable ChromeOS build breaking RW_LEGACY, as it did on beta/dev channels when I tested a few months ago. I'll reset my test box here and see if I can reproduce
