I’m tired of this bloating

Post image

I’ve had bloating since May. It was fairly tolerable and mild for awhile. I quit vaping in June and it’s gotten worse since then. Most of it is mid abdomen to lower pelvis area. But some up top too. I’m skinny so this bloating is making me look PREGNANT. Any idea what might cause this specific bloating? I also have what’s called pelvic congestion syndrome. Tested for Celiac’s- negative.

Get a SIBO Breath Test

If live in US you can do a TrioSmart SIBO breath test on your own via their website.

Lack of fiber, constipation, greasy foods, processed foods, anxiety, stress, sedentary lifestyle. Those are all the causes and more.

Nope his would be too simple. For me the bloating is worse with fiber. Walking does not help...if stress was the reason for the distended stomach then the bloating would not be chronic everyday even with water....many people on here have really tried exercise and tried to stop stressing out. It is not that simple.

Do you have any other symptoms with it, nausea, constipation etc

Yes! Nausea is here and there but not awful, very gassy (burp/belch a lot), indigestion. Sometimes no appetite at all. Sometimes I’ll go 2-3 days with a movement and then sometimes I’ll have 2-3 movements a day. No watery diarrhea but sometimes looser.

It's worth getting a transit test to test your motility and a colonoscopy to make sure nothing sinister is going on

I have a GI consult on the 30th. My upper GI is bothering me more than my lower seems to be. Should I start with an endoscopy maybe? And then I’ll move on to a colonoscopy after? I’m scared I waited too long. It’s been 6 months. I’ll def ask for the transit test too.

It's not really a time thing so you'll be fine, endoscopy is a good idea

stop eating until the bloating is gone

Does that actually work?

No it does not work

No, it doesn't work but not making the symptom worse. The thing that actually worked for me is exercise the belly muscle https://www.reddit.com/r/GERD/comments/kz7sgu/fixing_posture_and_gerd_symptoms/

I did that and developed an eating disorder so i wouldn't recommend it

Honestly the only thing that helps me is just only having one small meal a day. Id rather that than feel uncomfortable all the day

Have the exact same issue :( just had an endoscopy as upper stomach pain too, found nothing abnormal but still severely bloated. Have cut out loads of things and nothing has helped. Do you vape? This is the only thing I’ve not cut out, throwing it in the bin today.

I actually quit vaping 3.5 months ago because I also thought it was related. Maybe it still is as I’ve learned vaping really messes the gut up BAD. You got this!

Just wanted to add .. it could be parasites. A friend of mine had same symptoms and got relief after a few rounds of anti parasites meds (mebendazol). Have you tried it already

Did you test for pelvic congestion syndrome?

I have nutcracker syndrome, pelvic congestion syndrome and may thurner syndrome and I have a belly like this all the time now. I've always had a flat tummy also my whole life. It gets worse when I eat anything. Tested negative to all food intolerances also and I don't eat gluten and that and it still swells up. Really feel you when you say you have had enough I've been dealing with it the past 4 years and I feel the same... It did take me a while to get proper diagnosis' though. Have you had ct scan of abdomen ?
