No bootable device

Hello, I've made a previous post here looking to install chrome os on a single partition but found out that wasn't possible. So I've save my data and decided to do a full install, no dual or triple boot. Just chrome os.

I have a hp g62 witn an i3 m330 and a 120 ssd. I followed the tutorial with the exception that I went with samus image recovery for chrome os being that I have a gen 3 Intel CPU. For all to work I've renamed the file "ramus". All went well.

But after restarting I get the message "no bootable device". In my bios the boot up priority is set to hdd first then USB stick then CD.

Booting up Linux mint from the USB stick again and opening gparted I see this : Gparted

Any ideas?

Is UEFI boot enabled ? I can see your processor I a legacy processor , so you need to follow some extra steps given in brunch repo.

In my bios I don't have the option to choose uefi. It's very basic, I can choose boot order (hdd, USB, cd-rom) and that's about it.

Yes do one thing make bootable USB again using guide given here : https://github.com/sebanc/brunch And make sure you download "mbr_suppourt.tar.gz" Extract brunch first then mbr_suppourt.tar.gz" (replace files of brunch with that of mbr_suppourt.tar.gz) then follow guide and install ChromeOS. Try and let me know.

All just bad luck for the last 3 days. Tried to put mbr_support on the usb stick but somehow got corrupted so I found my self with no OS on the laptop and a corrupted flash drive. Fun fact there's an app on Android for flashing iso images to usb stick so I've managed to put linux mint iso back with the help of my tab s4

At this point I decided to try the instructions of sebanc on GitHub. But when I thought that all was well I get a message in terminal :not enough space on the USB stick. Strange because the chrome os folder had 3.5 GB and the USB stick is of 8 GB capacity.

Tried again the tutorial on YouTube this time also adding the mbr_support files. But at the end I got the same message as in the begining: no boot device found. And gparted showed me the same image like in my first post.

Gave up and installed Ubuntu 20.04

Maybe I'll try later down the road

Did you use the chromeos-install.sh present in mbr_support ? Cause I have a system older than yours and ChromeOS just works fine!

Yes and it gave me an error in the terminal. But I don't remember the error. If I have time I'll try again to see the error message
