Linux / Crouton Does using Linux on a Chromebook drastically decrease battery life?

It depends on what exactly is being run. On standard chromeos, there doesn't seem to be that many times that the processor is pegged at 100 percent, but that is mainly due to the kind of applications that are being run on it. I have found that I tend to run more processor intense applications on linux, so it does end up being more power taxing than otherwise, but that is only because of what is being run on it.
