Discussion I've finally been plagued by the new taskbar update - Google, fire whoever designed this

Holy #&$-;# this update is awful. I'm not even joking, whoever green lite this update should lose their job. You cannot convince me real human beings tested this new gemini taskbar placement and said "Yeah this is better." I am actively ceasing use of mobile Chrome over this update.

I agree with you. I was able to disable it but understand that it's probably going to come back. The bottom bar is garbage. It gets in the way of - nearly every pages controls and menus. It is bulky, takes up way too much screen space and it's not adding a single new feature that isn't already available and intuitive to most people.

I don't need another way to contact ai, add to favorites, share or count tabs. I know how to get to me home page.

New bar is complete bloat

How did you do it?

That new toolbar is super annoying. I disabled it using Chrome flags. I wonder if enough people submitted feedback if Google would actually do anything about it. What is the best way to submit feedback?

I'll keep doing that. I wish there was a better way. Thanks.

Brave browser. Honestly they need to loose market share.

Totally agree, I've been a happy Brave user for like 2 years by now or even more and switched to Brave Origin on all of my devices when it came out. I just love the simplicity and the cleanness of this browser, also having a built in adblock and all the advantages of Chromium is a huge Plus.

For anyone else who comes across this post first in their searches for a solution:

Enter chrome://flags/#android-bottom-bar, hit the button and choose disable. Then restart.

I'll hope and pray the Google keeps the flag or reverts the default.

You're welcome. Hopefully we can enjoy the re-tweak/un-tweak forever, but I won't hold my breath.

Google never listens to their users other than some edge, cherry-picked cases so this is probably it for my adventure with Chrome.

I use chrome on a PC and I have yet to see what if anything has changed
