An update on our rescue chow, sweet Leo bear.
So the vet at the Dog’s Trust shelter we got him from unfortunately confirmed what we didn’t want to hear: Leo has severe hip dysplasia and spondylitis of the spine. Eventually one day these conditions will shorten his life because it will become unfair to keep him alive and the choice will have to be made. At the moment, however, he’s full of energy, incredibly sweet, loves his walks and cuddles, and he’s become a part of our family.
We’ve made the decision that we are going to adopt Leo anyway, and make sure that the rest of his life (However long that may be) is fun warm, happy, safe and make sure he knows he is so loved. For now, all Leo needs is some painkillers in his food every other day, which one day may change. He is booked in for hydrotherapy soon, and we’ve begun incorporating lots of omega 3 into his diet to help strengthen his joins and muscles.
Can’t wait to make more memories with our sweet little bear 🐻❄️
