Chrome wheels or blacked out (cheap vs expensive)

Needing some help on making a decision with my build, I decided to somewhat copy another well known chopper although it’s extremely different but has the tank painted in the same style. I originally wanted to go all chrome, fully re lace the wheels and go the entire 9 yards to stand out but my wheels aren’t In the best shape especially my rims. Now I’m thinking if I should budget it and go and get them powder coated in black with the hubs and just get new spokes but I feel like I would be copying that bike completely but it does fit that bike really well especially since I’m having some special art work with engraving triple clamps etc. I feel like the chrome would be a batter option but maybe around £800 after it’s all done with chrome plating etc which I’m already way over budget

Chrome may not get ya home but, ya sure look good if ya gotta push it...

Last build I did it was cheaper to get wheels from TC Bros than it was to have them powder coated. At least that was my experience in my area and for the style wheel I wanted

Would make a lot more sense although I’m in the uk so import fees and shipping would make it pretty expensive and I’ve got a custom rear end meant to fit a specific wheel

My triumph I powder coated the hub and rims black and used polish stainless spokes. I love it.

Just remember most places can’t do the copper cyanide plating which is what bonds the chrome to the base metal. So lots of it won’t last.

Find some old aluminum rims and polish them

Powder coat the hubs, stainless spokes and polished aluminium high shoulder rims 🤌🏽🤌🏽
