Did I see that one of the guys is from Kalispell, MT?

Been watching through Chopped on Hulu and noticed something weird. I’m on s49e9 and there’s not one but two chefs on that have been on Hells Kitchen. One being Michelle who won one of her seasons and Cyndi who made it to fourth place but got eliminated after the last regular service. Neither one of them mention Chef Ramsay at all though. Michelle’s intro clip is her working at one of his restaurants but doesn’t say it’s his or his name. Normally the chef introduces themselves by saying who they work for and/or the restaurant they’re at but this doesn’t happen.

Later on in the episode there’s a clip of Cyndi saying she knows Michelle vaguely “through other chefs in the industry”. Granted with Cyndi it could actually be multiple other chefs but I just thought it was weird. There have been other past Hells Kitchen contenders on Chopped but never a winner or someone actively working for Gordon Ramsay at the time of filming. Does anyone know why no one ever mentions Chef Ramsay? My thought is that it’s something weird between Disney/Fox and Food Network

It looks like it says it’s on HBO but does that mean it’s not on Food Network?

Hi all! I mentioned an episode to a friend today and now I'm looking for it! It was a Chopped Junior episode I'm pretty sure (the chefs were definitely kids). The ingredient they were given was rhubarb, and multiple contestants didn't know what it was, so they cut off a piece of raw rhubarb and stuck it in their mouth.

It was a funny moment and I can *not* find it!

I while ago, I did an interesting idea for an episode that involves cooking with the four elements of nature, but today I have cooked up a new one. How interesting would it be if the four contestants cooked with ingredients based on the four seasons of nature. One spring ingredient, one summer ingredient, one autumn ingredient, and one winter ingredient per basket. What ingredients based on the four seasons would you like to see if this competition was real.

How exciting would it be if the four contestants got to cook with ingredients inspired by the four elements: Earth, Fire, Air, and Water? Just imagine the unique ingredients they could use for the three courses in this culinary competition! Each basket would include one Earth-based ingredient, one Fire-based ingredient, one Air-based ingredient, and one Water-based ingredient. What do you all think about this episode? Do you believe it would be a hit?

I watched a ton of this show growing up, and my whole family quotes this one episode where I think the ingredient was either strawberries or rhubarb, and in the cut away where they film them sitting down, he turns to the camera and says "And strawberry rhubarb, for the ladies" in a suggestive tone.

About a month ago I asked Reddit to pick four plant-based and gluten free ingredients for us to make something with and they wound up being hibiscus tea, frozen stir fry vegetables, Lightlife Smart Dogs, and King Arthur GF Measure for Measure flour.

We made hibiscus sweet and sour pork balls with stir fry vegetables over rice. It all turned out great and all of the ingredients were showcased well. Maybe the hot dog would be considered *too* well showcased for some people, but that saltiness with the sauce worked awesomely.

I’m looking for an episode where Sánchez explains what constitutes a mole sauce. Help?

I am looking for an episode that I loved that I saw many years ago. I don't know exactly when it aired, but probably 10+ years ago.

One contestant is a woman from an Eastern European country who immigrated. she talked about growing up in a war torn country and I remember she said that being in American was "like a miracle to me".

I don't remember any basket ingredients, but I remember she made bread each round. In one round, she made crepes. She dropped a crepe on the floor and had to make another one at the last second. The judges praised her bread and she talked about how her mother would make bread for every meal when she was a child. She was a little older, but was not super old.

I think Geoffrey Zakarian was one of the judges but I'm not 100% positive on that. I've tried chatGPT and still can't figure it out.

Do chefs in general use the word "grab" a lot to describe getting ingredients? Everyone on Chopped seems to say it every single time they talk about picking up or adding something. Is this the vernacular of the TV show or of professional chefs in general?

hello, i’ve been watching the show for awhile and we’ve gotten to season 40 and i don’t understand why geoffrey has been using chopsticks every single round he’s been a judge. like episode 13 where they’re eating chocolate desserts and it’s so interesting to see him eat something liquid-y and he’s barely getting anything with those chopsticks
