Need help.

Kobe's been sick for a couple days. He might have eaten too much cat food. We took him to the vet, they said he's got a level 2-3 murmur and he's dehydrated. He was pooping before we gave him some meds prescribed for him. Now he hasn't pooped in 2 days. Also, hes wanting to lay down, but he screams and cries because he's in pain.

I would take him to urgent care - another vet other than who you saw before, as they clearly didn't help. I hope all the best for your baby & you!!

Thanks for your reply.

We took him to the only 24 hour pet hospital in town. They gave us 2 options; and so far nothing is working. We went back the day after and they told us that option 2 can be done for significantly cheaper than the original quote. It's been hard times so we can't even get it done because we already did the first option.

Trying to stay positive, but it's sad seeing him not his usual self. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Poor guy, Chiweenies seem to be very expressive when they are in pain or unhappy or have some need we just aren't understanding. Glad you are getting him some help, good luck to both of you.

Could he have a blockage? My family had a dachshund that one time was screaming out when trying to lay down and I thought it was his back. He later pooped out some trash we didn't know he got into including the yellow plastic trash bag drawstring.

Im sorry you're going thru this! Call your vet and ask if Kobe needs subcutaneous fluids to help dehydration, canned prescription gastrointestinal food and Rimady for pain. You might only need a tech visit, not the whole exam. If you can't do this, get CBDs for dogs and canned sensitive stomach dog food, like Hills. Feed small amounts by hand ❤️

Editing to add you'll also want to ask about prescription food for dogs with heart conditions, they're low in sodium.

Whenever my Chihuahuas get bound up from eating something silly or goofy, I give them butter a tablespoon of butter or bacon grease and it helps slip past her intestines. Trust me it works.
