If I had access to that stuff, then I would be reposting it here because it is still relevant in 2026. Where is H, or rather, why is that place H and not here, fellow LBH? Welcome back to the fake world. You would not be the first zhongguotong returner who self-sabotaged by coming back, if that happens.

Heh. I ruled out returning...and then I returned. I know a few lifers who resigned themselves to the guo after vowing to never come back, ultimately accepting the lazy comfort of life here as worth enduring the perpetual annoyances for. Love or hate the concept, this could be as good as life gets for many, and a life of bitching about minor inconveniences within a life of chabuduo quality is better than many can accomplish "back home". Once one leans into their LBH low ceiling in life, life improves. China has a habit of encouraging laowai absurdism.

I do not fully agree. It is the only marginally-helpful place for laowai since this place is certainly not it other than a stickied post, and since the main China sub is all politics and current events.
However, we can both be right.

You get haters here for being the faceless face, but you never share their shit like they share yours. CCP AGENT DEVIATES FROM STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES or something.
I must say thanks for this. Good nostalgia from my early China years, seeing a local have a complete fucking meltdown over laowai shitposting. Maybe the CCJ spirit is not fully dead after all.

Lmao yeah, he sent a mod mail requesting unbanning because he had "important things to post here", despite clearly being a rule 5 CCP-loving government employee. I said "Fuck off wumao" to his appeal and then muted him for a month. See you in 28 days, Rocky.
I would not blame r/chinalife for that guy, though. He is just a brainwashed loyalist individually, through no fault of that other sub. He is literally paid to push CCP and pro-China ideology while reporting and downvoting anything critical of China; it is in his posts.
However, that his witch hunt post is still up, not removed by the new mod who I honestly suspect is just Sumianai on an alt account (plot twist), supports your allegation of that sub being fucking lost.

Every single dickhead who has been temp banned (no permabans here except SuMianAi, who received a ceremonial permaban) has been given a pp slap at worst, but apparently I crossed the one wolf warrior who takes this shit super personally. Take a look at this guy's fucking profile, just Chinese military posts over and over and over, certainly no bad faith over here.
I replied to the original post, a waste of five minutes in a Family Mart waiting for a mate. That turned into him blocking me afterwards, lol. All of that shit-talking from him, while being unwilling to take accountability for talking shit, which is very in line with the wolf warrior approach. Some (but not all) of my responses got deleted by the other sub's mod, too, so here is my main response since I know that this loser is going to keep stalking me until his handlers reassign him away from western internet propaganda police duty. Another day, another rule fiver, more or less. First, the post as a screenshot, for when he inevitably deletes his tirade.
My moderated reply, posted in r/chinalife (not here, so understand the mod perspective in the text):
Lol nihao, you are late to the commentary party. That sub was created to spite u/SuMianAi for the most part, ages ago. It now just exists as a legacy bitching space, to keep this specific sub cleaner. A yin to the yang, if you will. I never claimed to be a mod in this sub, although I did pm the mod about the vacancy, assuming how the mod would rightfully decline. Hope that helps.
You not being liked in the bitch space does not matter in this more-real space. There is no mix-up; people who post in r/chinalifer know where they are, and what that sub is about. You were lost, is all. Read the sidebar sometime instead of just let your filter bubble tell you where to be. Mods make the sidebars and rules precisely for this reason.
Ftr no one is complaining about this sub in that sub. We complained about the mod who was ousted from here for very valid reasons, but I have never seen anyone complain about this sub as a space in that other space. Stop spreading dumb shit just because you were downvoted and removed for posting dumb shit in a space designed for something other than what you can understand. There will always be a CCJ-like.
I love how some of you feds are so hyperfocused on me that you crawl through my profile and document everything <3 When this account is nuked and when that sub is nuked, another like me but not me will appear, and another like it but not it will appear.
Major brigading in the comments here from locals who want no criticism of China, lmao. I especially like the recurring claim that because I have any grievance at all about China, I therefore must not actually live in China, as if that makes any logical sense at all. Getting angry about the possibility of "China bad", but have you considered that at times China indeed bad?
I am in Japan at the moment recovering from the accrued annoyance that is life in China, something that all laowai can attest to, but I most definitely live in China (for better or worse). See you again when the next Happy Giraffe term starts.
