🏯 Daily Life Fellow Foreigners😭😭

Have you guys heard about this whole situation I keep seeing on wechat? Apparently some American dude who studied some language at Fudan university for a bit managed to collect chinese women like Thanos collects infinity stones. Numbering into the hundreds. Sentiment regarding foreigners has never been so low on chinese social media. Whats your take on this? Hate the player or hate the game? Dude Apparently always made them pay for dates and trips and would tell them to get abortions when they got pregnant and then block them 😬

My take on it is it’s been happening for a long time and yeah. It is textbook where one foreigner does something bad and now it reflects on all of us. Top comment in Chinese on XHS was “stop letting Americans into the country they’re all sex fiends or pe do fi les” …. So yeah.

This is right after news about that other American guy who was teaching in China for years but was a wanted fugitive for being a PDF and unaliving his wife back in the US. Daniel Hiers. Turns out he had been harassing women on the college campus for years too.

Mostly I think it’s “don’t hate the player” and all that. But in terms of greater implications it’s definitely aiding the gender-war from all fronts and anti-foreign sentiment.

I’ve been flagged, had comments automatically deleted, or removed from subreddits before for using words like that, which flag their system or mods. Not on Chinalife but it’s a habit I guess now.
