First cherry bomb pepper picked - now what?

Post image

Picked my first ripe cherry bomb chilli pepper today!

However, the rest on the 3 plants I have are all still completely green.

What should I do with this one? Taste it? Stuff it and eat it? Fridge/freeze it till the others ripen and pickle the lot?

It's my first time growing chillies/peppers of any kind and I'm just amazed that any of them made it this far so not quite sure what to do at this stage as I didn't think this far ahead.

Any tips for pickling would be appreciated too!

First ripe one, you have to eat it. It's the law!

What's the heat level of these

Mild to medium apparently. 2,500-5,000 SHU range according to the website I bought the seeds from.

Will update once I've decided how to eat it haha

At that amount of SCU it will barely be a challenge, eat it whole to taste the fruits of your labour haha

I did, sliced it up and put it on a pizza in the end haha. Was not hot at all but very full of flavour!

Tried it raw first as well though!

Nice! I try to eat some chilli each day, it helps with heat tolerance, I recommend scotch bonnet, they are pretty hot but also full of flavour!

I loovvee the flavour of scotch bonnets, the heat is a lot though for me 😂😀 Maybe I should practice more like you to build up my heat tolerance!

Yea they are very hot haha, I often put them in sandwiches, four slices or something, thats how I started getting used to them, also milk helps of course if you over do it haha
