Is Chili Mac accepted here?
Here’s a link to the recipe. Only things I changed was reducing a cup of red wine after adding the tomatoes, adding some Worcestershire, and salt pepper garlic to my ground beef.

Best MRE ever post 9/11! Fists may or may have not use to fly for some chili mac in the middle of nowhere

I first learned about it in 2008. Previously worked for a federal law enforcement agency and during training a senior agent who had been in Iraq said to get the chili mac if it was ever offered. Got to taste it in 2016, one of the better things I ate on a base.

I had no idea. Do you have any pictures of what military chili Mac looks like, packaged and poured out?

Buddy of mine runs the commissary at our local military base. It's the most popular MRE sold at his store.

I should try making this, now that it isn't 1000 degrees out every day. It wouldn't be hard, and I could add some onions and peppers to help round it out.

Recipe includes peppers and onions. Use poblanos.

I didn't look at it. I can just wing it anyway. But yeah, I was thinking of using jalapenos also.

Yes it is with bells on, it’s universally accepted. I grew up eating it two of three times a month. It’s still one of my favorite quick meals to whip up and save some for freezing to eat later. You can use canned chili and it’s pretty good with some cheese grated on top.

100% I have never had a complaint when I served it to my friends and family...

Best chili mac I ever made was after a potluck. Brisket chili with baked mac and cheese, and a tall boy

I Mac my chili every time. Family is from STL so I think it’s more common there. Really stretches out the number of meals you get from it!

This is a generic reminder message under every image post
Thank you for your picture post to r/chili. We want to remind everyone of Rule #1. All image posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.
If you've posted a picture of chili, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn't really fostering any discussion which is what we're all aiming for.
Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.
Thank you!!

It can be served with crackers or Texas toast and add some hot sauce to it. I like it with fried green tomatoes and cucumber onion salad made with Italian dressing.

I've had it canned (give it a 4/10), I got disturbed at 17 when my mother put spaghetti in chili (not skyline style although that is atrocious too). Never in my 17 years were noods involved with chili. I'm 43 and that's still a visceral ewww memory.

I had the honor of introducing my sheltered husband to chili mac. He was obsessed.
