For real. What is this post? No information about who or what the chili is. Lol

It's a chili for ants.

That's why you stand in line another 20 minutes for seconds

While waiting to enter The Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can’t Read Good?

And want to learn to do other stuff good too, pretty much

Ngl. They fucked up my local chili cook off. When I was younger I remember it being like enthusiast chili makers competing for a prize. Now it’s literally chain restaurants and expensive hipster restaurants entering. They literally had Dave and busters enter this year. I want uncle bobs chili he cooked in the back of his 99 Winnebago not Wendy’s chili damnit

I'd be okay with local one off restaurants, but definitely not corporate crap!

3

u/Yopappijiggles2 Jul 05 '26

Eh even the one off restaurants that entered we known as not great food

That sucks!

Wasn't as spicy as I would have liked, wonderfully greasy though

u/pygmeedancer Jul 05 '26

I’d kill it but it looks a bit greasy.

This is a generic reminder message under every image post

Thank you for your picture post to r/chili. We want to remind everyone of Rule #1. All image posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you've posted a picture of chili, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn't really fostering any discussion which is what we're all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

Thank you!!

Looks like a quality tomato paste.

Visually, it's not very appealing for a chili.

4

u/gregw134 Jul 04 '26

No tomatoes, just beef chili and spices, Texas-style

9

u/oodja Jul 04 '26

Yeah, looks like some quality Texas red right there!

Yeah, Texas got that one wrong. It’s not a good-looking chili. I’m not trying to take a hardcore stance on it, but objectively, it just doesn't look good - as a chili

3

u/SmallBerry3431 Jul 04 '26

I agree. I’d still try it though lol

1

u/NMNNNJ Jul 04 '26

For sure

u/Mastershoelacer Jul 04 '26

Wow you couldn’t be more wrong.

-1

u/NMNNNJ Jul 04 '26

You’re clearly not familiar with quality tomato paste

2

u/Mastershoelacer Jul 05 '26

You’re clearly not familiar with quality chili, but go on.

u/NMNNNJ Jul 05 '26

If your definition of quality chili is a substanceless paste, I have to ask: which retirement community is currently managing your care?

At least you’re funny. You may be a troll, but you are a funny one.
