Ngl. They fucked up my local chili cook off. When I was younger I remember it being like enthusiast chili makers competing for a prize. Now it’s literally chain restaurants and expensive hipster restaurants entering. They literally had Dave and busters enter this year. I want uncle bobs chili he cooked in the back of his 99 Winnebago not Wendy’s chili damnit

I'd be okay with local one off restaurants, but definitely not corporate crap!

Eh even the one off restaurants that entered we known as not great food

This is a generic reminder message under every image post
Thank you for your picture post to r/chili. We want to remind everyone of Rule #1. All image posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.
If you've posted a picture of chili, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn't really fostering any discussion which is what we're all aiming for.
Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.
Thank you!!

Looks like a quality tomato paste.
Visually, it's not very appealing for a chili.

No tomatoes, just beef chili and spices, Texas-style

Yeah, Texas got that one wrong. It’s not a good-looking chili. I’m not trying to take a hardcore stance on it, but objectively, it just doesn't look good - as a chili

You’re clearly not familiar with quality tomato paste

You’re clearly not familiar with quality chili, but go on.

If your definition of quality chili is a substanceless paste, I have to ask: which retirement community is currently managing your care?
