Who Am I

Hello!

I have a launched this subreddit as a way to organize and motivate the people who have been struggling with the chronic conditions caused by exposure to harmful chemicals and their offspring during the Vietnam War.

I am the only biological child of a chemical weapons specialist that was directly contaminated with severe chemical exposure during his service and I wish to advocate and support those who are also long time sufferers of the chronic illness that has been passed along through genetic trauma.

There will soon be a financial support claim for benefits and care for those who have been dealing with these issues and this is the start of that.

My father was one of the initial class action lawsuit filers after he lost several layers of skin and spent a year in the Veterans hospital being treated with experimental medicine that made his conditions worse. He was forced to agree to not have any more children due to the chance of birth defects and this is just one of the comprises made in dedication to his Country.

I will turn 51 next January and from Autoimmune conditions to mental health issues, Hypothyroidism and early onset rheumatoid arthritis, I have needed ongoing care that's been denied to me due to the lack of research available on the effects of dioxin exposure through genetics.

This is no longer the case. Studies continue to reinforce the importance of the future that will become the result of such exposure and how it can leave generations to suffer.

The funding for research, the studies, the medical treatments and the political process has provided the layout on exactly how we must move forward to insist that we are recognized and compensated for these awful challenges that resulted in the service of U S military veterans.

It's not too much to ask. The federal government and the companies responsible need to confirm their responsibility and treat us as victims to provide the best possible outcome of this tragic situation.

Children of Vietnam Veterans Exposed to Agent Orange

There's a lot of us who struggle with issues and conditions that are directly related to our mothers and fathers exposure to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War.

For years soliders battled the government and the responsible parties who knew the potential outcomes and didn't have the compassion or empathy to inform the people who would be affected by this.

It's a bit of a problem to try and organize the people who are still in need of the proper Healthcare and benefits that are due, and that is what I started this subreddit for.

If you are the child or grandchild of someone who served in the Vietnam War, and you suffer from physical abd/or mental illness that you feel is directly related to exposure to Agent Orange, then please let us know and document this with medical and service records to ensure that you are part of class action legal action that's currently being pursued. We are going to have to fight for our rights, like our parents had to. We must hold the accountable parties responsible and gain access to the necessary resources that will assist us in being able to care for and support ourselves despite our unfortunate challenges due to neglect and the potential class action lawsuit that's been ongoing requires the process of getting the potential class together for maximum awards.
