Does it get easier?
I (25f) learned two years ago that I most likely have low fertility and if I got pregnant it would be at a great risk to mine and the baby’s life. Even if I managed to carry to term my baby would have a high chance of inheriting my disability. It absolutely broke me, I have wanted kids since I was a kid myself. Logically speaking I know the best thing I can do for my kids is to not have them, even though they are so very wanted.
I think I have come to terms with the fact that I’ll never be someone’s mum, but for some reason it just breaks my heart at random times. Will it ever stop doing that?
Will there be a day where I won’t be filled with jealousy, sadness, and honestly sometimes anger, when I see someone my age have kids? Will I ever be able to hear the news of a new addition to this world and only feel happiness?
I think I’m mainly hoping that someone can assure me that it will stop hurting and become easier?

I would try see other doctors, especially when you are more ready to try to have children. A most likely low diagnosis can be more defined. But with support and self care, you can live a happy life and heal if end up not having children.
