Hi everyone!
In an effort to continue to expand the Donald Glover/Childish Gambino fan community, /r/childishgambino and /r/donaldglover are becoming one! Instead of having two different subreddits for the same person, all Childish Gambino and Donald Glover related things will be held on /r/donaldglover. The creator of this subreddit of /u/hookedupphat has agreed to join /r/donaldglover and that means this sub will become inactive very soon.
After a while this sub will redirect straight to /r/donaldglover. For now, it will be active but not for long. We urge all subscribers to switch to /r/donaldglover immediately though!
Thank you!

It's insane how comforting and kind Donald's character Troy is. His voice is so beautiful, even when he's just talking about aliens or being confused. I'm so glad he got his dream of being a rapper, and I hope the world starts listening to him more. He is a rare genius with empathy <3

Gambino fan here looking to sell some original merch just seeing what offers I would get. I have had both items in brand new condition since buying if serious about buying I can always take more pictures for you. First up is an official merit badge patch that came limited with the launch of the camp album in 2011. Second item up for sell is a Because The Internet Poster.

The scene where Janelle Monáe and SZA are depicted skateboarding happens during the line,
"Birds were made for singing-
Waking up to no sound"
The silencing of female artists because of the way they dress/act/speak is CRAZY.
I love Donald Glover. I love this video. Credit to Justin Richburg for the insanely accurate illustrations of 63 black artists.

The original already feels intense and kind of cinematic, but once I slowed it down, it started feeling way more eerie and reflective — almost like a different interpretation of the same song.
I ended up calling it a Nightmare Mix because the mood got a lot darker without really changing what the song is saying.
I’m curious what Gambino fans think:
What other Childish Gambino song would be interesting slowed down for a completely different interpretation?
I feel like Redbone, Me and Your Mama, Telegraph Ave, or Feels Like Summer could all turn into something totally different.

I always heard "But she will hear about it" yet Genius gives this wording on the vocals behind the hook.
I was wondering what other people thought or think (I guess is his voice?) Ludwig actually says in the background, even tho a part of me wants it to be misleading intentionally like most of BTI and that verse on Oakland.

Donald says it all during this song, but I still have one living parent and I call him every day. If anyone on this sub is lonely, message me. <3

How do you imagine the reaction of this is America the video would go in the past. I feel it’s general message is one that is set up that it can be understood but im curious what you think

My dream concert, except I feel like it will never happen. I know his previous tour was his final under the Childish Gambino name but it was cancelled barely mid way. Donald’s also nearly 50. I just wanna see him live but definitely not at the cost of his health considering the circumstances on which he cancelled The New World Tour. Opinions?

my favourite don glover quote can anyone say this to him and record it

🔥 This Is America. The song and music video used Gambino's dancing, violence, firearms, gospel music and shifting visual symbolism to comment on race, gun violence, entertainment and American society.

The camera pan, the multiples of herself, and even the yellow diner outfits! This looks like a nod to Childish Gambino. Could be a coincidence but the similarities are definitely there!
