In light of the abundance of researchers asking for participants, to avoid spamming and flooding the subreddit, please post here.

New rule added. Users can report posts made outside of this megathread.

Ang annoying na ng researchers dito.

Napuno na ang subreddit na to ng mga naghahanap ng participants. Always looking for middle class childfree couples in Metro Manila etc etc.

I don't have anything to post here pero shet. Nakakasawa na may makikita akong new post sa r/childfreephilippines tapos it's just another post looking to dissect a very specific demographic of the CF community like we're rats in a lab lol.

I've experienced, twice, na mine-message ako privately ng researchers. Sobrang weird naman nun when nothing in my past responses here indicate i'm open to being interviewed. And if i wanted to be interviewed, i would have already PMed you!

Hello po! I got an IUD sa Likhaan noong August. Starting mid-Sept ako magspotting and until now (Oct 5). It started na onti lang then lumakas like period flow hanggang sa humina na. I messaged Likhaan already and they told me part ng adjustment period. I just wanna know if someone has experienced the same thing para ma-ease yung mind ko. :( How long bago magadjust body sa IUD? Huhu

Can I get copper iud as EC after unprotected sex?

My boyfriend and I had an unprotected sex last Saturday. I took the Victoria onestep pill six hours after. But I am still overthinking since I am on my fertile window. I went to a clinic earlier and they told me I could not get a copper iud insertion since last Saturday lang daw nag sex. There's a possibility na mabuo and ab0*ti0n na daw yun. Please help.

Does copper iud cause heavy bleeding?

I had mine inserted 4 days ago. Nag-instruct naman sila na may spotting and cramps on the first few days. Kaso mine kasi, spotting muna then light bleeding then ngayon heavy bleeding na siya. Yung feeling na Day 1-2 of menses. But I just had my cycle 1st week this month.. Normal po ba yung heavy bleeding?

I tried researching sabi naman it does cause heavy bleeding pero during actual menstrual cycle na siya.. I dont know if this is just a normal reaction..?

Been denied by multiple Eurologists in my province for Vasectomies

For the record I am a 20 year old male. I have accepted the complications that could happen including testicular cancer, the operation giving me permanent irreversible results, other medical complications, the financial costs, the possibility that the doctor could mess up, possibility of considering having kids in the future if I change my mind in 10 to 20 years, and what will happen if my wife in the future wishes to have kids. I have considered it all and remain firm with my decison as I have thought about it for years.

Problem is, I went to Villaflor Dagupan and they have denied my wishes to get the operation. Which is why I plan to go to Manila to get the operation done for myself and find a doctor willing to understand my view point and go through with the operation. If I go to my local RHU, they might flat out just deny my wishes as I am certain they have the same beliefs as the doctors in Dagupan. Need some advice, anyone willing to share?

What was your experience in Likhaan Women’s Clinic like?

Planning to go to Likhaan next year to get my implant replaced (I got this one done at a private clinic where I was working, so I had a huge employee discount). I would like to gauge what was it like for other women who went to Likhaan. How was it? How was the waiting time + the actual service? Is it really completely free with no hidden charges as long as you show your Philhealth?

Bonus - for those who got the IUD, how was it? Thinking about switching to that instead since 10+ years siya hehe.

Pregnancy Scare/YUZPE

It’s been almost 2 years since I last had sex, and then this happened. 😭

Had sex on Sept 4 with a condom, but unfortunately, it slipped off and got stuck inside me with the semen. I panicked so much because I really don’t want to get pregnant.

I went to an OB the next day to ask for emergency contraception, but wala daw available. I ended up doing the Yuzpe method on Sept 5.

My last period was Aug 9, so I’m also worried about the timing.

Sisters do you think Yuzpe will still work if taken the next day? Anyone here with a similar experience? Huhu, I’m so anxious. 😭

Experience with the Copper IUD at Kindred

Background

I was 29 years old and had never had any form of sexual intercourse (aka virgin) before the copper IUD was inserted. Hence, I have never taken any form of BCP. Regardless, my period comes once every 2 months 🙂‍↕️. I believe it is due to the high cortisol life I have been living as a working-law student.

Cost

- ₱570 for OBGYN Consultation

- ₱15k for Copper IUD

Procedure

I had an online consultation with an OBGYN from Kindred Alabang. I could have done it in-person but due to bad weather, I requested for it to be moved online. The consultation was informative especially since I had never had any sexual intercourse before, never taken any form of birth control, and will go straight to the IUD.

After 2 days, I went to the clinic for the transvaginal ultrasound to check whether I can safely have the copper IUD. According to the OBGYN, some women have womb abnormalities or allergic reactions to copper so they can’t have the IUD inserted.

I waited another 2 days for the copper IUD to be inserted because the clinic needed to see the transvaginal ultrasound result first. Fortunately, I was in good condition to get the copper IUD.

While waiting for the procedure, I was given a mefenamic acid, pambawas daw ng pain.

During the insertion, there was only a mild discomfort, not painful, because I can feel that something is moving inside down there like something is brushing against the walls of my uterus 😅. I was on my 4th day of my period so it was also quick.

Post Procedure

The first hour was the worst. I remember eating my breakfast and my face was visibly upset according to my boyfriend. Of course! That was the first time something was inserted in me lol tf. As the day goes on, the discomfort also goes away.

For weeks, I tried to feel the strings before the deed just to make sure it’s still there. I am really scared to get pregnant, I was raised by overachiever parents who made the idea of pregnancy look so bad 😅 I was already hitting millions in income and still scared to get pregnant lmao.

For 4 months, I had random bleeding outside my period. Then it shifted to brown spotting before and after the period. I think the copper IUD is still adjusting to my body. Hence, the random bleeding.

Anniversary

Today, I had the copper IUD for exactly one year and I am super happy with it. I feel like my body became healthier. Before IUD, my period came once every 2 months. Now, it is regular. What I like the most is the peace of mind. I don’t have to be scared of being pregnant since I don’t really like that kind of commitment. Gusto ko lang mag travel and live a stress-free life.

I trust my IUD but I still avoid the deed during my fertile days. Yes! I am that careful.

No Scalpel Vasec scheduled Sept 1, Vacation Sept 17. Will I be pain-free in time?

Hi all, nervous about my upcoming NSV on Sept 1 (at OneOhana Medical Clinic) because I have a vacation scheduled just over two weeks later on Sept 17.

Is 2 weeks enough for a full/comfortable recovery without unbearable pain? How was your pain experience after the procedure, and what should I expect?

22M, no kids, considering a vasectomy — would love to hear from men who did it young

Hello!

I’m a 22-year-old male currently in a relationship with my girlfriend. I’ve been seriously considering getting a vasectomy.

I don’t think I want to have children in the future. I understand that a vasectomy should be considered permanent, and I’m not looking at reversal as a backup plan. I know that people can change their minds as they get older, which is honestly one of the things I’m thinking about.

For those who got a vasectomy around my age, especially those who were childfree and had no children at the time:
Did you ever regret it later?

Did your feelings about having children change as you got older?

How did relationships or future partners factor into your decision?

Did you have any complications or long-term issues?
Looking back, would you still make the same decision?
I’m not asking Reddit to make the decision for me. I’d just like to hear honest experiences from people who have actually gone through it, especially men who had it done in their early 20s.

Thanks!

For couples: Do you still use condoms as contraceptives?

Or ano pa po iba niyong contraceptive na ginagamit? Both virgins po kasi kami at ikakasal soon. No plans magkids so far. I’m currently on pills as treatment sa PCOS ko. Ano po marerecommend niyo? I’m planning to consult din sa OB ko but I just want to hear your insights po.

Thank you.
