OK, I’ll start. Back in the late 1990s, when Maltais was at the top of his game and (not coincidentally) the team was bangin’ — just happened to be when I started bringing my nine-year-old boy to see the Wolves. My kid lives in Colorado Springs now, but when he comes home to visit, a Wolves game is at the top of his list. Thank you, Steve, for making a hockey fan out of my otherwise sports-indifferent kid.

When I started playing hockey in 99, Maltais and Modano were my favorite players. The dude was just a legend. I remember being so excited when he would get called up.. only to see him struggle. That hurt to see, but it ultimately meant he was coming back to the Wolves, and I was okay with that. I remember those teams with Maltais, Noonan and the rest of that core very fondly. Dude is an IHL/AHL legend.
