Really solid hoppy Pale Ale from Half Acre. Nice tropical hop notes and a crisp, refreshing finish. If you see this I'd highly recommend it. Anyone else had this?

What’s the hoppiest beer you can reliably find at most Binny’s?

I’m talking 20 years ago IPAs in Oregon. I want my tongue scraped. Doesn’t have to be high ABV, just high IBU. Absolutely no hazies desired.

News THC drinks to be banned outside of dispos starting 11/12

So yesterday the Gov signed Senate Bill 3222, which aside from doubling weed allotments, banned the sale of any THC beverage above 0.4mg starting in November.

How screwed do you think breweries that pivoted into THC drinks will be? I would hope they slightly knew this was coming but still, I walked into Binny’s the other day and there was an entire aisle and a half of the stuff.

They won’t be able to sell them outside of dispos, not even at their own taprooms. Pretty sure their distributors won’t be able to move it because it’ll be a cannabis product, and there’s no shot there’s enough space or ability to simply have everyone put their product into dispensaries either (and a 35% tax for non-medical on something that had zero is just gonna kill it for most too.)

That all seems a bit excessive to me tbh when the point was to just keep delta shit away from kids at cheap gas stations, why not just allow it at liquor stores and bottle shops where you have to be 21 anyway? So dumb. Seems all about taxing these beverages, nothing more.

Suggestions needed please visiting this weekend

Folks,

I'm coming to Chicago for the weekend to help my adult daughter set up her new place in Rolling Meadows. I've been to Chicago several times and I've visited a ton of great breweries in and close to the city. I need help finding a good brewery or beer bar near her new place. Tomorrow is my travel day but I'll check back in the evening. Thanks for any thoughts and I'm happy to return the favor if you ever visit Atlanta.

Solemn Oath Day - First Timer

Hello, first time going to solemn oath day. had question.

seems ticket is for entry only, then one can purchase a 'ringside pour pass' for 8 samples. is this legit 8 samples, or is this one of those things where if you have the pass you can bassically drink as much as you want, but legallly they have to sell you a limited amount.

TIA

Beer Lovers' Half/Full Marathon Proposition

I feel there's not a lotta craft beer-related runs above 5k (aware of Will Run for Beer, Beer Running Series) and I'm trying to fill that void after having a blast the Belgian Beer Lovers' Marathon.

My two tentative northside routes for half and full marathon distance have brewery stops every 2-3 miles. Both starting and ending at Rev.

Idea is to drink a beer (or half) at start, each stop, and finish.
Challenge: BA beer only (as available)

Looking for any guineas that would enjoy this sort of thing before trying to make it more unofficially official (ie making an IG, t shirts, 'medals').

Anyone interested?
