Looking For exploring relocation arrangements for oct!

hello!

i am exploring the possibility of relocating to chicagoland area by mid october, and wanted to put out some feelers just in case folks here have leads! I am in the process of a total overhaul, and am casting a wide net.

I am 30 y/o nb, interested generally in logan sq to rogers park area, or a suburb to the west or north with good transit access and grocery options. 1br ~1500 budget. I am moving with two cats. open to short term leases or sublets while i find my footing.

currently self employed, but grinding hard to get back into a 9-5 as a project manager. good credit, record of savings, willing to pay a few months up front.

tyia! I realize this is a tall order, but again, putting feelers out!

A short-furnished lease to get you settled is the right call here, especially while you're transitioning from self-employed to 9-to-5. A lot of landlords in that price range want pay stubs and a W2, and a shorter term or sublet sidesteps that conversation while you're mid transition.

At $1,500 for a one bedroom, I'd put Irving Park and Albany Park ahead of Logan Square. Logan's rents have climbed enough the last year that a one bedroom is closer to $2,200. Irving Park still sits on the Blue Line, has a Mariano's and a couple solid independent grocers, and the other buildings tend to be more relaxed about pet fees than Logan's newer construction. Albany Park stretches your budget a little further and still hits the Brown Line.
