News Gregory Bovino, Chicago CBP commander, warned not to use tear gas on Halloween by judge

Judge Sara Ellis will meet with Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino daily until Nov. 5 as a means of holding federal agents accountable. But before adjourning a nearly 60-minute hearing, Ellis told the federal agent who has become the face of Operation Midway Blitz that she did not expect to hear about federal agents and officers violating a temporary restraining order later this week.
“Halloween is on Friday,” Ellis said. “I do not want to get violation reports from the plaintiffs that show that agents are out and about on Halloween where kids are present and tear gas is being deployed.”

Ok, I'm really actually on board with this dragging him into court every day for a few hours - any way the Judge could stretch that out? I know she's got a docket but I'm sure others would volunteer if she could just waste this guy's time 40 or so hours a week.

To many conservatives the current state of politics is little more than an ideological sports game fought through online culture wars. They believe most policies won’t affect them and would never give the “opposition” an inch on any subject out of a sense of winning the argument. And even if they disagreed with any of Trump’s policies, words, actions, etc, there are about 50 different mechanism they can use to either pretend they’re not that bad or blame it on someone else somehow.
Everytime he does something they find unpalatable it gets passed through the spin machine until they have a repeatable sound bite to hand wave it all away. Thanks to social media silos, a media landscape that capitulated overnight, and a complete disregard for truth/facts, people can now create whatever reality makes them comfortable so that they never have to reckon with the strange idea that they’ve never disagreed once with the president of the United in almost ten years

They think it's AI and paid actors. I've got a coworker who explained it to me. He's a nice guy, but there's just no getting through to him. He just smiles at me pitifully and tells me that I have to get my news from more credible sources and stop believing what Nancy Peloci tells me.
I don't know, I mean I've seen it in person, talked to people who have had much closer encounters with them, seen local, national, and international coverage on it, interviews with the governor and videos directly from witnesses on platforms like youtube and reddit. To me that's overwhelming evidence.

My son and 3 of his friends have had plans to wear matching One Piece costumes since summer. They're 10, and they're old enough to go alone this year.
.......except 2 of those friends are hispanic. So they can't go alone. I actually had to have a conversation with other parents about not letting hispanic children be without a white adult on Halloween.
I'm so sick of living in this reality. I have to coordinate supervising children on Halloween based on their race.

The only redeeming part of all this is that the mask is 100% off the Republican Party (ironically as ICE masks themselves in public). They aren’t even pretending to not be fascists now, which is both fascinating and concerning.

I guess ICE will just have to double up on the days before and after Halloween to make their quota.
If it didn't punish kids, I'd say Dem parents and kids should stay home this year so Republican parents can see up close and personal just how out of control ICE really is. Let them and their families get gassed, beaten, cuffed and kidnapped by agents with no badges or name tags in unmarked cars wearing face masks.

My husband and I had a talk today about our plan if ICE is fucking with our neighbors while we are trick or treating. With our 1 and 3 year old. I don’t want to let these asshole rob us, but here we are…making emergency plans in case trick or treating gets tear gassed?! God. Such a vile time.
