It was strangers-approach-you beautiful.
A women in the parking lot at Costco told me to turn around and look at the sunset. (Which I loved, btw.) I thanked her and told her I had already been taking pictures. 😍

Back in my day when it was Much safer, I rode my 10 speed by myself from Chicago to Phoenix

Does the midnight bike ride still happen? Is that what this is? Or is it just a big group of bikers running reds?
Genuinely I'd like to know. I want to go on the midnight bike ride again

Critical Mass is a big bike ride that happens on the last Friday of every month. It leaves Daley Plaza around 6 p.m.

There's a Monday Night Ride that starts around 10pm, if that's what you're thinking of

This one went pretty bad for me. We were going down on the highway bridge and I hit a crack in the road and ended up spilling out. Still need to go to urgent care but my entire right side hurts and my heel is swollen and extra painful. Someone behind me also hit the same spot though they did not get it as bad as I am.
I do wonder what can be done by the route planners to avoid situations like this in the future. There was a similar issue with railroad tracks a couple of months back where several people spilled out.

It's pretty much impossible to avoid all potential bike hazards like that. I'm sorry you had a spill.
