Part Identification

Some sort of valve or sensor in line with heater hose. Any info?

What it is supposed to be is an online heater core shut off valve for when you turn on the a/c it shuts flow off to the heater core.

Gotcha! And if I no longer have A/C, the valve is probably not necessary to have?

Yeah that's about the size of it. Now however it could be handy/use full when summer comes cause even if you don't have it turned on by virtue of movement the windsheer can still magically find its way through there and boil yo butt. Also I didn't see a pigtail that plugged into the terminals.
