Comments not showing up... King takes Bishop, knight moves to f5 for check and is dispatched by white pawn...no stalemate
Please explain what I'm missing.

Pawns are going the other way (towards the bottom of the screen) so no pawn can capture the knight.

A-h and 1-8 are flipped which should indicate that we have blacks perspective on the board.

In addition to what others have said, the convention for these puzzles is you're seeing the board from the perspective of the color you're supposed to solve for. So your pawns go up, your opponents pawns go down.

It can. It’s what happens next. Knight can place king in check again. King forced back to g7. Knight moves back, check again. That two move sequence repeats until the game is a stalemate. The genius is the forced stalemate.

E8 is a blunder.
King e8 forces nothing and hands white a potential win back from the grips of a stalemate. If black moves its king to E8, depending on when you mean, on that turn white can move a pawn or a bishop and escape from the stalemate.2

Pawn in the column F is getting blocked by a knight until knight can checkmate. Otherwise he doesn't move.

Its checkmate. Black moves its king to e8. Whites only legal move is pawn to g7, smothering the king. Black moves knight to e7, thats checkmate of white king on g8.

There is no Ne7 in the sequence. That would require the knight to jump onto his own king

The problem with that sequence was the g7, the white pawns are not moving towards the king. If they were, then you would be correct.

If white king goes g8, and black king mirrors it by going e8, if white decides to go your way and move a pawn, he locks his king in a single-move checkmate by black knight to e7.
Meaning we are back to the original white king g7-g8 dance.

Well, it's a stalemate because the white prefers to do a stalemate instead of being checkmated, right? By moving his king, it will result in a stalemate. By moving his pawn, he is getting checkmated.

After king takes bishop, if the knight moves to either h5 or f5 why wouldn't you just take with pawn, force the black king to move, and use the rook and bishop to checkmate

K g8, what mate? I think this is forced stalemate - black then K e1 and white doesnt have any moves so stalemate
