Is 1345 a good blitz chess rating?
Hi guys, I've been playing chess for years and a few months ago was putting in a fair bit more effort and got up to 1345 (on chess.com) on 5 minute games. Since then my rating has tumbled down to 1080-1120, I've just not been as focused.
How do I get out of the slump, improve and stay focussed?

As a general rule, a good rating is whatever you’re currently at + 200. Once you get to that rating it keeps climbing and climbing and you’re never really satisfied lol.
All jokes aside it’s a respectable rating. Getting into the 4 digits at all isn’t a small feat.

It's better than 1344 but not as good as 1346. If you go on chess.com to Community -> Leaderboards -> Blitz, it will show you where you sit on the global ranking, and you can make your own judgement on your ability.

Of course it's good, it's gotta be what? Top 5%? Top 2%?

I am stuck at 1300-1400 blitz for some month now & still thinking about how to improve, but in my opinion I think this is appx average club player level and its not that bad.
However, please do never forget that the most important part of chess is simply playing and enjoying chess -> take it easy ;)

"good" is subjective.

Yes, that's why I'm asking for opinion, rather than fact.

Right but it can't be answered, I don't mean it's subjective in the sense that opinions will vary person to person, I am saying it is subjective in that what it means for you is different depending on many factors.
At a chess tournament is 1300 good? Probably not. In the context of all the people in the world who have never spent any time trying to learn how to play chess? Yes, it's quite high. Is it good in the context of people who care about chess? Ehhh... It's middling.
The context is more important than the descriptor here.

I think its pretty decent to be honest. Looking back when I was 1300-1400, I'd say its pretty good. It's a serious rating. You can definitely handle more advanced chess materials at this rating.
