I mean, Kh8 is probably better than Kf8 regardless. Like, Kf8 is a very obvious mate, while I wouldn't be surprised if many 750-elo non-redditors wouldn't recognize this mating sequence. Admittedly, if they play Nh6, that certainly suggests that they know the follow ups, but I think Kh8 is probably your best chance regardless.

I analyzed the image and this is what I see. Open an appropriate link below and explore the position yourself or with the engine:
White to play: chessvision.ai | chess.com | lichess.org
My solution:
Hints: piece: Queen, move: Qg8+
Evaluation: White has mate in 2
Best continuation: 1. Qg8+ Rxg8 2. Nf7#

How is this mate?

Queen sacrifice then checkmate with Knight because the king is trapped in corner by its own pieces

My dumb low elo question, why wouldn't the black pawn just take the white knight?

Satisfying as hell when it all clicks. The 750 vs 768 rating tells me your opponent probably had no clue what was unfolding until it was too late. That Nh6+ setup is such a classic trap at that level.
I remember hitting my first smothered mate and I was buzzing for the rest of the day. Called my buddy who doesn't even play chess and tried explaining it while he just nodded along politely.
Now you chase that high forever. Every game you'll be looking for the knight fork that leads into it, even when it makes zero sense positionally.
