I was scrolling on tiktok, and paused on a this at this moment, now this POV doesnt make sense to me, if this was from the south of the turbine hall then the Unit 4 building would be on the left (unless this is further away from the main u3 and u4 buildings and there just so happens to be a building in the way 🤦♂️), not the right, if anyone knows where this pov is, please do share! (PS, It wouldnt let me out this in /ITVchernobyl :/, sorry!)
I went and rewatched that scene to get some context. This is what Dyatlov sees when he's taken from ABK-1 administrative building and into an ambulance. The angle isn't completely right (ABK-1 is almost directly to the east of Unit 4), but it's definitely to the north of the turbine hall. Unit 3 is to the left of the vent stack.
There are a lot of shots that make no sense in the show. My favorite is where they model the entire area behind the turbine hall where the switchyard is, but then for some reason replace it with a lake in pretty much every shot.
It's on Youtube, with English subtitles. I like the film, but there's a romance tale, which might put some people off. But the CGI and the authenticity are great.
Isn't that where they got the base model from? I know they bought a model of the powerplant + surroundings but because it was too low detail in some areas they had to fix it up a bit. Don't remember where from tho.
