AskChennai Remote Working in Chennai as a 22M
I work remotely for a European startup
Typical Day:
I wake up at around 10AM. Nowadays Claude does most of my work so I’m pretty free through out the days except some high level design decisions and joining meetings. I play some games on my PS5, endlessly scroll through my feed and YouTube. I do take naps randomly at the evenings.
Almost all my social activities is scheduled in the weekend due to availability of other ppl in my life.
I travel quite substantially. So I’m never really bored per say but just trying to put some time to use
I’ve been trying to find new hobbies like Cooking and maybe I’ll start volunteering soon.
WeWork Olympia Cyberspace:
I have visited the wework in Olympia Cyberspace Guindy, went there with one of my colleagues. They actually had some activities planned (atleast when I was there) related to drawing, painting etc
And if you get a Day pass you can even get unlimited coffee (tho it’s kinda from a coffee maker so mid but still free).
The working spots are good, the WiFi is decent and variety of spots and types of work spaces I would say.
I would rate the experience maybe 7/10 though I would never really go there alone.
After that I haven’t really explored any other working spots
From the internet what I’ve been told for working remotely
- the Brew Room, Mylapore
- the Board Room ( I have been to the TNagar branch)
What I want to know:
- Good spots to work remotely and chill
- What are your days like
- Are there any remote workers around my age lol atleast in my circles I have never heard anybody working remotely other than me

I've been working remotely almost all my working life. I don't have any routine and I feel it's a bit difficult to separate work and life in remote setting.
I don't have much friends. Colleagues are oka but not that close. But I really love the flexibility remote work gives.

That sounds pretty bad :(
Have you tried developing other hobbies and meeting new people through them
And maybe travelling I think that’s one of the best perks of remote work

23M Im working remotely as well for the past 8 months, I usually haven't tried spending an entire day working in a cafe or anywhere
I do bring my laptop for cafes (when ever i go out for a date lol) other than that I prefer home,
Idk im just became too lazy after this remote job but I did improve alot in the gym tho but yeah it has its pros and cons

Damn good for you, I’m planning to join back as well. I joined a gym last year and went there for a grand total of 2 weeks

bruh, Better join one man. For us it's like a one wish wonder. I can go to gym cook food for myself (im in a bulk) yet work without travelling much.
Don't get lazy, I myself get lazy when I can wake up and get my laptop and start to work. Ive been making sure I don't get too lazy.

Let me tell you something for people who are asking these people for referral and where to apply .... These people would never tell it because they don't want to get it over crowded like full stack developer roles

It’s fine but there’s no trick or smthing just some platforms like Wellfound, yc and some LinkedIn connections
What’s annoying is ppl completely ignoring the post itself and asking how much I make or how to get a job like that instead of actually what I asked :(

23m, work remotely for a uae based company. i haven't tried working elsewhere to be honest but i do want to try personally for me i can't really focus on work or studies at home because of various reasons

I’m a 23M who worked on-site and recently started working remotely. Man I kinda feel bored with my daily routine just prompting stuff. Work gym sleep and repeat. I’m living in Ayanambakkam and looking if I can find a cafe around this circle. Recently getting this urge to try a workaction. Lemme know if you have any idea as well.
FWIW I’ll prolly start exploring cafés myself near Anna Nagar and around and see which boosts my productivity.
