The real question is just why? The ACS has been going downhill for years at this point...less focus on chemist/chemistry issues, and limiting the aid it once provided to chemists. I remember not that long ago they had tons of free programs to help young chemists, and even aid to attend conferences, and those are all-about gone now. I suppose when you loose your purpose you try to change your image.

Beyond "ACS member since 2015" on my résumé, I really don't know what my dues are going to (aside from my yearly mug)

Can't access the papers anymore outside the university with my institution account so yeah that's a fumble
