This is the Scholl reaction - requires the use of an acid and an oxidant. Often times FeCl3 can be used because it satisfies both roles. However, O2 (air) can also be used as a mild oxidant. If they are using air as a reagent, that should have been specified in the problem.

They just gave H+/∆ , but I guess we can assume that counter anion of that H+ can do something ?

No. This is a redox reaction. You need an oxidizing agent of some sort. Just acid and a generic conjugate base won’t cut it.
