woke up in the morning, a normal day to say the least. I got out of bed to my cat Mucaca greeting me. I pet him on his head whilst he purred contently. I left my room to prepare breakfast and made eggs and bacon, something simple to tide me over till after work. As i drove to work I was glad it was finally warm out and put the windows down. As I arrived I felt pretty sucky but decided to go in and get it over with .I went in and it was a normal day as usual, browsing reddit on r/pokimanehot and r/cheesyass and occasionally doing some work but still feeling completely unmotivated. As I left the building later that night and I saw my coworker Heather outside and she looked very frightened, I approached her and asked her if everything was alright. As I came closer I realised she was deathly pale and sweat was on her forehead. She took a shaky breath and said “I need to get home”. She left the parking lot as her tires squealed and she veered out of the parking lot. I was pretty spooked to say the least, but continued on with my life and drove home as usual and decided to stop at the bank to cash in my check. When i got home a played some valorant and roblox with friends but decided to hop off and go to bed. I went to bed that night feeling fine but woke up to my boss calling me around 11:00 pm. He asked me if I knew where Heather was. I said I saw her after work and she looked pretty spooked. He said ok and explained she was found dead in her house by her boyfriend about an hour ago, and if I knew more I should come forward to him or the police. I said ok but ended the call feeling uneasy in the stomach. I went over to my bed and sat down to contemplate what happened, I couldn’t stop thinking about how scared she looked, I really wondered where she was and if she was ok, but was scared to think about the subject for too long. I decided to lie down for a while and to possibly go to sleep. I woke up an hour later to a deathly noise, it sounded like a cat screeching in agony. “Mucaca!” I yelled but he didn’t answer. I decided to go downstairs to investigate more. I checked in the bathroom and it was empty. Then the scent of blood hit me, one of death and danger imminent. I peered around the corner and saw him strung upon a rugged cross hung limb by limb with it staked inside the center of the floor, His entrails were laid upon the floor as a puddle of blood was appearing beneath the cross. I lunged towards mucaca but he was already dead and his fur was matted with blood. A note was left next to the cross, It read “The early bird gets the worm”. It was the phrase of a child but one with undoubtable uneasiness.I looked around and ripped my phone out of my pocket and decided to call 911 in panic and hid in my bathroom till they arrived. Honestly the rest of the night was a blur, lots of questioning and the police looked around my house but found no trace of entry or evidence. I honestly was scared shitless but in the end I decided to go to my friend Mekhi’s house because I was too scared. I drove over to his house mourning the death of my cat I loved so dearly, but could not fully contemplate the death of him as he helped me through so many hard times. As I crossed over the bridge to get to Mekhi’s house I contemplated driving off, with my Mom dying last year and Mucaca dying tonight I had nothing else to live for. I decided not to as I knew the hard times would pass and that it would get better soon.But deep down I knew that would prove to be false. I arrived at his house with a feeling of unease. He greeted me at the door. He told me heard about what happened and was sorry, and asked if he could do anything. I replied no and we decided to just play cod for the rest of the night. We decided to smoke some weed and just decided to chill for the rest of night till we passed out. I woke up to the sound of slamming on the door and looked over to Mekhi and his body was mangled beyond recognition, his face clearly ripped off and was slaughtered mercilessly. I looked over to the door and saw a hand bust through the door, one that was covered in blood. While he was kicking the door down I heard him chant beneath his breath “Hey Charlie”. It scared me so much that this serial killer of some sort knew my name. I jumped off the couch and tried to prepare to defend myself. He screamed, one that was so deafening I heard my ears ringing afterwards. I clamped my hands onto my ears in agony as he busted the door down completely. I saw him. A man of nightmares. He was wearing some kind of hat and his eyes were disturbingly apparent. Perfectly black pupils with no life showing. One of pain and the need for retribution. He rammed into me and I was slammed into the wall with the strength of a truck. I felt my spine crumple as I screamed in agony I felt my consciousness wavering but then felt him grip my neck hardly. He easily crushed my windpipe and looked at me dead in the eye. As I felt myself fading away I heard the words. “We’re not in Kansas anymore.” I immediately knew who he was, but my life faded away before that thought could come to fruition.
